Reviews For Victus per Reproba Monumentum
Author's Response: Glad you're enjoying my story so far. I hope you continue to enjoy as the story goes on.
Severus and Remus both need a swift kick in the seat of the pants for their behavior here; Remus because he should have known how painful it would be for Harry to suddenly be back at Grimmauld Place, and Severus because he's just being a cruel git. This is no criticism of your writing though, because they are both perfectly in-character. Severus is a cruel git right now (though I hope he'll warm up to Harry eventually) and Remus, for all his intelligence, can be very dim-witted when it comes to emotional needs-deliberately so, I think. I really want to shake him and the other Order members too. For all that Harry is so crucial to the war, his emotional and psychological well-being does not seem to be high on the priority list. Well, anyway, I really enjoyed the chapter and am looking forward to more! Author's Response: Thank you so much. I'm glad you think everyone seems to be in-character. That was my number one requirement while writing this.
The poor boy does not need to be in that house! Great chappie firefly! Author's Response: Thanks. :)
Author's Response: Thanks.
Taking it term by term: Victus: living / way of life / diet, food, provision Per: 1.per (+ acc.) (of space) 2.per (+ acc.) (means/instrument) 3.per (+ acc.) (cause) 4.per (+ acc.) (of time) Reproba: second-person singular present active imperative of reprobo => reprobo: disapprove/reject/condemn Monumentum: memorial or token of remembrance, remembrance My way of life is caused by your condemnation of my rembembrance? My way of life will cause your rejection of a memorial? Please add an author's note with your intended translation of this phrase. Author's Response: Wow...a review on just my title alone. I never thought I'd ever see that. Glad I ditched having Latin chapter titles. I can only imagine what my reviews would be. LOL The site I used to translate Latin to English gave me the words to my title. Victus - living Reproba - false Monumentum - rememberance I'm not good at coming up with titles so I really wanted to translate it to Latin so it would sound better. It was something like Living with False Memories.
Author's Response: Thanks. Severus will be along shortly. =)
Looking foward to seeing where you take us with this story. Author's Response: Thank you.
