Reviews For Hut of No Return
Brilliant. Author's Response: Wonderful! I just looked at the time/date stamps for Ch1 and Ch10 reviews -- you read throughout the entire day! So glad you loved it! And -- as always -- many thanks for reading and reviewing! 😊😊😊
Author's Response: You really made my day! I hope you have a favorite chapter or scene that you'll remember with a smile -- my personal faves are Harry and the post owls, Snape putting the dreadful Dursleys in their place, and Snape's arrival at the Hut. But I appreciate the fact that you read all the way to the end! Many thanks for reading and reviewing! 😺
Author's Response: So glad you enjoyed my version of Harry! Many thanks for reading and reviewing! You just made my a brighter!
Author's Response: Thank you so much! Actually, this is the longest story I've ever completed. There were times that I wondered if I would get it finished, but I didn't want to shortchange my readers, so I slogged on. And on. And ON! Finally got it to my intended stopping point, with no continuation or sequel planned. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and many thanks for taking the time to tell me so! That means a LOT! 🤗
Author's Response: I'd never seen anyone really "use" the Hut as a setting before I decided to do it myself. I just had to work out a lot of details to develop Harry's harrowing experience, while still keeping a bit of light-hearted aspect in play. (The Magic-Potion-that-Saved-the-World!) And those ruddy, cheeky owls! 😄 Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: Yay! I really tried to put myself into Harry's mind throughout the story, hoping not to hit any false notes. I've never been an eleven-year-old boy, after all! But I do remember how I felt as a child who desperately wanted to fit in and succeed, so I suppose that's a universal experience. 😉 Many thanks for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: Thanks so much! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond, but I do appreciate all of my readers' feedback! Thank you for reading and reviewing!
However, I did really like the hut rescue and the way Harry interacted with Severus. It was adorable. But it's got me thinking... Harry has his entire Hogwarts career in front of him. Will that much time of pretending to hate Snape eventually become a real feeling? Or, with the two strive to not let it happen via private reassurance? I hope it is something in the form of the latter. Severus did make me happy with his awarding points to Harry at the end. Thanks for an interesting and fun story. (~.^) Author's Response: Thank YOU for the compliment! I've had several readers comment about the Sorting, apparently not liking it for one reason or other... Well, I wrote it the way I wanted to, and I just accept that I can't please everyone all the time. How boring our world would be if we all thought the same way! As for the continuing relationship between Harry and Severus, I would like to believe they'll continue to interact privately, while maintaining a public facade. But you do raise some very relevant questions! Thanks for reviewing! Hope to hear from you again!
Author's Response: I'm so pleased that you enjoyed Hut! And many, many thanks for reading and reviewing each and every chapter! 😉
Author's Response: I can certainly see your point, but I would argue that even adults have difficulty at times being pigeon-holed, and Harry is only a child. The entire magical world is a new experience, which he is not completely comfortable with, despite his awe at seeing magic performed, so Harry is struggling to maintain his personal sense of individuality, instead of blindly allowing the Hat to impose a new identity upon him.
