this is really compelling. I love the concept :)

I love this chapter. I hope you continue the story. It is such an original beginning!
I really like this idea for a fic. I've read a couple "Harry as Almost a Squib" fics but Argus is on'y a background character in them. I really like the idea of Argus being Harry's guardian. I'm really looking forward to HArry meeting Mrs. Norris.
Great start - its actually nice to see Filtch portrayed as something other than a sour squib. He seems believable to me so far - his gruffness might come more naturally after a couple of chapters. :)

Very unusual and interesting. We only see Filch as a negative character in cannon but this gives a very good insight of a sad character. I would have liked to have seen the scene at no 4 Privet Drive.
Author's Response: Thanks, glad you think so. And I know, right? I have waited for a long time for the right idea to cmoe to me regarding Filch. I have written him before but never got to explore his character like I can now. I deliberately didn't include the scene at Privet Drive. I will show it later on as one of Harry's memories. So you will get to see it! :) Thank you for your review.
Very interesting, more please!
Author's Response: Thank you for your review.
Interesting start...
Author's Response: Thank you for your review.
Such an interesting idea. I can't wait to see where this goes.
Author's Response: Glad to hear it, and thank you for your review.
This is a very interesting idea. I never would have thought of making Filch into a guardian for Harry. I've seen so many SuperPower!Harry stories that Squib!Harry makes a nice change and I'm looking forward to where you go with this.
Author's Response: Yay! I'm happy to know that this is a different sort of story for you, with Filch being the guardian and Harry being a squib (well, semi-squib). Thank you for your review.
This is interesting.
However, where not the Potters wealthy? Can not some of that money be used to help with Harry's upkeep so that he doesn't have to live in a single dingy room?
I am not saying that Filch would not be a good guardian but bringing in the child merely to work without giving him an education, even a muggle education, is a disservice.
Basically, it is saying that if you are not magical then you are nothing even if you are a child and you have a savings account at Gringotts.
Author's Response: Ahh, yes you do raise good points, however though it was not stated yet, Harry would not be missing out on an education nor given such limited upkeep. He will get new clothes, be given proper care and the works. Staying in that room is merely for the fact that he is a child and requires adult supervision. As an assistant caretaker, he is required to live in that office as well. Thank you for your review!
