Reviews For The Owl, the Ring, and the Pirate
Author's Response: I really had an urge to write something FUN, and while the story just unfolded on its own (I've learned to hang on and enjoy the ride!), my biggest struggle was coming up with a title. I still cringe a bit when I see it perched above the narrative, but what the heck--my other attempts were far worse! Yeah, I really couldn't leave the Resurrection stone just lying there... It BEGGED to be used. Respectfully, of course! And Snape definitely deserved some happiness. 😉 Thanks for the review!
Who owned the silver trove? You know, handsome pirates an'all, there Is another wickedly sensuous Pirate Capt. Hook in one of the more murky and brilliant of our Alan's films. I hope you can borrow Cinders again to root out the title..I agree with the Vicechairman of RADA ,that the audience needs to go into the theatre, and work, and not have everything served on a silver platter for their delectation. Please write more. This bloody , blasted year 2020 is just.. pulling out locks of hair. Need fanfics, need SNAPE, and new stories by brilliant writers. Thank you so much and with best regards. Take care and have a cuppa. Author's Response: WOW!!! Awesome ENTHUSIASM!!! The silver was literally "buried treasure"--no known owner. And Cinder suggests (with a wagging tail) to check out "An Awfully Big Adventure" for Alan's performance as Capt. Hook. Have you seen Jason Issacs as Hook in Peter Pan (2003)? Wonderfully wicked!!! I've been away from writing for far too long. Hope to get myself into gear before the end of 2021. Many thanks for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: Thanks for saying so! I loved the concept, and I had tremendous fun writing this story. Many thanks for reading and reviewing! 😊
Author's Response: Sorry to disappoint, if you were "hoping" for a friend for Fred! Nah-- it was just our other-worldly Potions Master doing his new free-spirited thing! With the emphasis on spirit! Glad you liked the story overall! And thanks for taking the time to review! (gee-- I'm going to need to charge my cell phone before I can respond to the rest of your reviews! Sorry for the delay!!! But hey-- I'm NOT complaining!)
Author's Response: I absolutely agree about Fred & George and the Stone! Fred's death was one of the most shocking in DH because (I felt) it was completely unexpected. I was angry about Hedwig and sobbed over Dobby (still do whenever I read that scene), but Fred... it came out of the blue. Poor George! I just HAD to do something for those two guys! And yeah, I had great fun with Snape in this one! JKR killed him off, and I have to keep bringing Snape back (in some form or other!) in my own stories! Hee! Many thanks for the great review!
Author's Response: Thank you! And thank you again! I had SO wanted to do the Ring-to-George-for-Fred scenario for ages, but OF COURSE Harry had to experience an unexpected encounter along the way! I'm thrilled you liked it so much! (I have to admit, I often wonder what percentage of my readers can relate to my "wavelength"...) And thanks so much for taking the time to review! :-D
Author's Response: Don't look now, but you already posted 2 previous reviews... *wonders if aut is too young for a senior moment...* ;-D
Sev's clothes made me laugh so much! That's a Snape I'd like to see:) I love your style of writing and story ideas. They are so unique! Author's Response: Thank you so much! It really means a lot when someone tells me they think I've come up with something original! And thanks for the comment about the conversation between Harry & Snape-- I'd hoped it would come across realistically! So glad you got a blast out of the story, and thanks for taking the time to review! Always appreciated!
Author's Response: Aww! Thank you so much, rosina! I had such fun writing Cinder! And playing with the rainbow owl! And getting Snape's ghost into something more comfortable! Hee! Originally, I'd wanted to actually put Fred and George in here, but those twins always manage to steal the show... Besides, it was more important to show Harry and Severus (after all, they are the "required" characters!) this time around. But I haven't given up on this approach. I've never written a sequel, but I think I might be able to work with this story as the jumping-off point for one! Snape had better hang onto his hat!
Author's Response: Many thanks! I wanted to do something out of the ordinary (although, considering that Harry Potter is entirely out of the ordinary to begin with... ;-D ), something a bit whimsical (my summer weakness-- just GOTTA write some whimsy!), and just plain fun! So glad you enjoyed it! And thanks for taking the time to review, too! |
