Reviews For To Trust
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I reallly appreciate you pointing out what you liked most. It wasn't easy to portray Harry's emotions in this chapter, so your feedback is very encouraging.
Besides Armilla by Coral Grace, I like fictions with guardian/mentor themes by oliversnape. Those fictions are posted here in P&S. Just a note: the author also wrote a few other fictions which are based on romance between Potter and Snape which is not my thing. So I just skipped those. They are posted in fanfiction.net. Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! :) Yeah, I've been having fun writing the dialogue. Thanks a million for introducing me to Armilla, I read it and the sequel in the space of three days. It was incredible, and I never would have thought to read it even if I had heard of it.
- Resonance (and its two sequels) - Taming snakes - A shadowed soul If you haven't read them already you should give them a go! Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I just started Taming Snakes and I'm totally hooked! Thanks so much for that.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I do hear your point about the lack of direction; this chapter was a bit difficult to write because of that, but I really am going somewhere :) I'm glad you liked the Jade scene; it was kind of difficult - I didn't want to make the kids seems like sociopathic eight year olds, but I wanted to realistically portray just how much pain they were in. About In Care Of, I read it straight through and went right to the sequel, I'm so annoyed that it's not complete, and hasn't been updated in ages. It was definitely worth the aggravation, though, so thanks a million for that.
Author's Response: I would hope so too, but, sadly, many of our greatest hopes and wishes tend not to come to fruition...
Btw, I especially loved Harry's changing reason for not wanting to be touched. He's grown to realize that Snape won't harm him, but he still isn't ready to accept comfort. It's very genuine. I wonder if Snape has picked up on that change, or if he still thinks it's out of an automatic reaction of fear. Author's Response: Thank you! I'm really glad you like the pace of the story, though I do realize how irritating it can be to wait for the good stuff :) I really appreciate that you noticed what I did with Harry's changing reactions; it's a pretty delicate process.
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! This chapter is leading up to a climax in Harry and Snape's relationship, so there are some serious conversations coming up pretty soon.
Author's Response: Thanks! Yeah, I thought it would be interesting to do the opposite of the typical scenario, where Harry trusts Dumbledore while the old man manipulates every detail of his life. Instead, I had Harry think that Dumbledore's manipulating him, while really... |
