    Well the good news is that unless you're killing Harry off and making him a ghost, this means that Severus will figure out just how depressed and terrified Harry is and he'll finally get some help. Good job with the chapter, hope you update soon.

    Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I think I can safely reveal that I do not plan on making Harry a ghost, so either Snape will help Harry out, or the story is over next chapter. I leave it to you to draw the right conclusion ;)

    AUGH YOU SUCK, why would you end it on such a cliffhanger, that's just pure evi-- *own stories prod me in the back* *shifty eyes* *coughs* Never mind.

    Still though, you better update soon. Like...now. XD

    Harry's suicidal ideation and everything in this chapter is so perfect and accurate, it's *painful*. Especially that calm and purpose at the end, when he's deciding to hurt himself, that's exactly how it feels. ^^;

    Author's Response:

    Thanks for reviewing! Yes, I am indeed evil personified. (And yes, you are one to talk, plus you keep readers waiting for a whole lot longer than I do *hem hem*)

    I'm really glad you think I got Harry's internal turmoil right; I was really nervous about that.

    Thank you for the update! I really appreciate the way Harry now feels safe enough to act out, while at the same time continuing to be very insecure. It seems that a part of him realizes that he's physically safe with Snape, so he has the freedom to lash out, yet he still feels that his place in Snape's home is vulnerable, causing him to regret his actions each time he does. It's very realistic. The emotions of abused children are meant to be complex, not placed easily into a neatly marked box. For that reason I also appreciated Snape's understanding that Harry probably didn't even know himself what his needs are.

    Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I really appreciate your feedback - your observations are spot-on.

    Mmmm. Caramel gelato. Yum. Poor Harry. He's too afraid to trust Snape. After all, everyone else he cared for abandoned him. He sounds torn between aggravating Snape to make him get rid of him and fear that Snape will actually make him leave. Sounds like it's all coming to a head next chapter. Hopefully, Snape will have a breakthrough with Harry. After all, he is a head of house and must have some experience dealing with troubled children.

    Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! Harry is very afraid to trust; it goes against everything life has taught him so far. He'll get there, though, hence the title. Despite Snape being a bit out of his depth in this situation, he will have a breakthrough.

    Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing. Yeah, this chapter was probably just as heartbreaking to read as it was to write. Just wait till the next chapter...

    You know. For someone who leaves us at a cliffhanger. AGAIN telling us that you are perfectly capable of giving us more right now but not doing it. It might be somewhat much to ask for our reviews. *snigger*

    Oh well, the knowledge that you already have the next chapter ready is somewhat comforting.I guess I'll reread the entire story in the mean time.

    I really like the way you write this. It keeps it interesting. and though I can see why it was hard to write it isn't noticeably affecting the quality. I really wonder how Snape will go about this. I luckily have no experience in this kind of stuff. The only thing I can say is: surprise me

    You do seem to get the stages of grief pretty well as Harry seems to be in denial and sometimes even getting through to the anger.

    Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I have some nerve, don't I? But I never claimed to be polite ;p. About how Snape goes about it, I honestly surprise myself, sometimes. It's not an easy road. I'm really glad you notices the fluctuation between the stages of grief, as the emotions regarding depression and suicide (and all mental health problems) can be very unpredictable.

    Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I know, I'm really horrible to leave you hanging like that. The next chapter will be up very soon, and I don't think you'll be disappointed.
