I am truly intrigued by your portrayal of Harry. Snape is in true form, isn't he? Looking forward to more.

I'm just amazed by Harry. He's wisely kept his temper. Most authors have him suddenly turn on Snape in anger by this point, and I like that you didn't. Harry's conditioning by the Dursleys should hold firmly, even in the face of nice!Snape. Harry "knows" adults are devious and evil and want to catch him in a behavior for which they can punish him. Snape's just trickier than the Dursleys.
Harry has the right idea about finding out what he needs to know by reading books, so he doesn't have to talk to anyone about his questions. He's also surer to get the truth from books, instead of the slanted version he's likely to he told "for his own good."
I see you're having Snape get small glimpses of Harry as Harry, not TBWL or James' son. I can't wait to see how this goes from here!

Of course Dumbledore takes Harry to Snape's home. Who else could he be certain would NOT fall all over themselves to take in the boy? Who else would NOT reminisce rapturously of the boy's parents, and undoubtedly give Harry information that the headmaster doesn't want Harry to have yet, or perhaps even wants to bribe the boy with later?
Of course, Dumbledore has let Snape infer what he wants about Harry, probably even manipulating him to ensure his continued hatred of the boy.

I'm surprised Harry actually went with Dumbledore, since he doesn't know him.
Heh, Albus has been looking for Harry for "quite a few days"? Does that mean weeks or months or years? Well, probably not years, at this point, since Harry doesn't try to get away using magic or anything.

Author's Response: It actually means a few days, more details will be revealed in a couple of chapters.

Interesting to find out more of what makes Harry tick. Snape remains an enigma, and surprisingly disinterested in his visitor although maybe that's just because Harry is behaving and making good use of the library.
