Things are looking good for Harry. He has Snape, his friends and now Fluffy all looking out for him. After his miserable childhood, Fluffy's presence must be a comfort.

So Harry has a new familiar. I wonder if Hedwig is still in the picture? She may not appreciate Fluffy.
Author's Response: I consider the more mundane (toad, cat, owl) familiars to be quite different, because they aren't linked to the wizard/witches magical core. I think it takes a truly elder species of creature such as the Cerberus to do such a thing. At least, that's the logic for this story universe so Hedwig is perfectly fine. :). I wonder what having this bond entails.
you have me hooked.
So Fluffy and Harry's magical core will merge if they are in close proximity. That doesn't sound good. No wonder Hagrid was so upset.
Are they trying to break the familiar bond? I can't see that ending well.
