Nicely written interaction between Albus and Severus. I like how Harry only slowly comes around to telling the truth.

This piece of writing is brilliant. I’m sitting here stunned by the depths to which I’ve been immersed. Feeling the transformation of Severus’s dislike into hatred, seeing how saving Severus ultimately gained James everything Severus desired, seeing the other shoe drop. Then feeling the burn of Harry’s anger masking the vulnerability of his lived experience, feeling Severus’s certainty that Harry was merely fighting, feeling his curiosity and observations narrowing in on the truth, feeling a raw vulnerability in them both at the end. There was so much to feel, a veritable tidal wave. This was utterly brilliant.

I'll never understand why so many people on here insist on scrambling relationships into nonsense in order to offload Severus and often others' sins onto different characters... Especially in a way that is so inelegant, transparent, and somewhat disturbing. (Severus was "forced" to use a racial slur? Seriously?) It is beyond irritating to deal with authors that can't actually stomach Snape and feel the need to retcon him into a bizarro version of the character we all come here to read about.

Author's Response: I can't for the life of me figure out where in this story I said that Severus was forced to use a racial slur.  Your opinion is valued and appreciated, however just coming to flame an author helps no one.  If you have constructive criticism with specific examples of what you found to be, 'inelegant, transparent, disturbing, scrambling relationships into nonsense and offloading sins onto different characters,' as well as how you would have preferred those instances to be changed or different, that would be helpful so growth as an author can be achieved and stories can become better forr eaders.  Thanks for your review and have a wonderful day.

It's been a while, and I'm not sure if you'll see this, but had to write this either way:

Every authors style of writing is diverse. I always assumed that my writing style had to flow smooth and long, but always admired people who's writing wasn't elaborate or iridescent and still got the emotion across. Thank you so much for sharing such a work!

I like the way you started with Severus' story and used it to mirror Harry's. Naturally, Minerva and Albus would think of Snape as the one to try to convince Harry to talk. It was probably a good idea since sympathy didn't work. I wonder if Snape will ever tell Harry how similar their childhoods were?

Woooow. Wow oh wow. Great emotions in this. Fantastic start! It’s really intense. I really like how it was all crafted, Harry being angry and claiming a dragon hurt him... Snape being more patient and crafty than usual. I even like your Dumbledore.

I’m loving all the characterizations, even the minor ones. Great job with Ron especially.

I’m glad that Harry told in the end. I hope his beliefs can be proven wrong. I really liked the backstory with Severus and his emotions about it. The analogy about the other shoe being dropped tied everything in nicely.

Fantastic start. I’m really enjoying this story and your writing. Well done.

Amazing story thus far! But I'm worried about Hedwig...? Was Harry able to rescue her when he went back to Privet Drive to get his stuff? Am very caught up in this version of Severus, who is still struggling with his own demons as he attempts to get Harry to face his Dragon/troll/hippogriff... So glad they've managed to open a thread of communication at last. But where will they go next?
