Oh dear! A teenage boy is such an unsure person that to do this to him is cruel! However a nightshirt is better than what he was wearing. I loved the chapter such fun
Author's Response: It definitely is cruel-- but then I try to never forget that Snape can take a lot of pleasure in being nasty. As a writer and reader, though, I enjoy his contradictions. He keeps me guessing-- is he being nice or mean, and is there any way we can ever actually know?

I am quite literally hooked on your story already! I love your version of snape. He’s so calm, yet still just as equally foreboding as in the books. I think I actually prefer this version of Snape you’ve wrote, he’s less quick to resort to anger. So I feel that when he eventually will get angry- because let’s face it, Harry is definitely going to do something sooner or later that’ll be the last straw for snape- he’s going to be really REALLY scary. I also love the way you’ve wrote Harry too, and I loved the scene where he was hanging upside down in a tree- he’s a young boy! You’ve written him just as he should be and it’s so refreshing to see! I excitedly await your next chapter!

It's good to hear that my characterisation of Harry seems to be working, because I'm writing several different stories with him at once and they're all at different ages, so it can be tricky to separate this one from the other ones. He really is quite young here. And I'm glad to hear that I'm succeeding in making Snape forboding!
Hopefully the next chapter won't be too long, though since its only vaguely outlined so far I won't make any promises...
Thanks for posting more of your wonderful story! I love your characterization of Snape in this story. It’s thoroughly enjoyable seeing Harry so wrong-footed by Snape’s calm, rational, yet still sardonic behavior!
