I hadn't actually thought to put this story on P&S---it's part of a series I usually post at my ff.net account---but when the Miniature Lily challenge came up, I thought, why not? This story is a prequel to "Girl In the War", which I won't be posting here as it has romantic content, but I think this one stands on its own well enough.
