(Hints of Child Abuse) First Year, AU in Potion's class. Snape grasps what he otherwise would have missed. Looks may -not- be deceiving, but in a different way than he had even considered...

Good job! Author's Response: Thank you! I think playing with canon scenes in the books is the funnest HP-related thing to write about, for me. Because it's all there; you just let it...flow according to your will =) James Potter did something unforgiveable and nobody knew about it... until now. What will the knowledge of this sin do to Severus and his perfectly (until now) isolated life?

Keira Author's Response: Yeah, I went back and forth in my mind about how stand off-ish I should have made him. I really had no idea because I basically had the perfect childhood and had no idea what to do. I was all "Would he be pissy or would he be so grateful that he'd forget about that for a bit?" I think as Harry gets a little more confident and comfortable with Snape, he might start with the normal teenage rebellion stuff. thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: thank you for sharing your story. I'm sorry that it took juvi to get your brother to confess. The reason for my all too well description of Harry's experience is because I had tried pot once (last December) because I was sooo curious and nobody would give me a straight answer about how it felt. Mostly my experience was the same as Harry's except I was pretty annoyed from the get-go because I couldn't concentrate enough to read a fanfic that I had been in the middle of. Yeah, my first and biggest pet peeve about the drug was that I was unable to read fanfics. If I can't read, I've wasted a whole night. Everything really went down alot like it did in this story though... right up to that last plataeu (in the next chapter) where the dissasociation became way too much for me to handle. So... just like Harry, I don't 'get it'... I don't understand why people would do this often and for fun. Blech.
I'm interested to see how differently things will play out when Harry doesn't go to the Cup. Smart of Snape to keep him from that. He's learning quickly :) Keira Author's Response: *L* It's so funny how different the readers are here and at ffnet. Already I've had a couple of reviewers on ffnet tell me that they think it's too severe of a punishment. ha, it's a totally different world on these two different websites. Harry has been through so much and he's never really been allowed or able to express himself with words and he's never really had someone to go to for help before. It really doesn't seem so out of place that Harry would end up having a habit like that. Let's hope it's just a one time thing that happened because the pot was too dissociative for him. We can hope it doesn't happen again... but only I really know for sure, don't I....? Thanks so much for your review. Durring the opening feast of a year like any other, Severus Snape was seen running down the halls holding the body of his dieing son. How will Hogwarts react to the child of their sadistic and suprisingly parental potions master?

Keira Author's Response: Thank you for reveiwing. It /is/ absolutly revolting how some people can care so little. I've often wondered the 'hows' and 'whys' of this, but I never can figure them out... The story is mostly going to be about Severus learning to love again, and Harry learning to trust :) I hope that I manage to capture humanity as I have captured it's oposing force. Thanks again! Song
Good job! Author's Response: Thanks! I'm working on the next chapter right now, but I'm stuck in writers block. The chapter is about 400 words long (its suposed to be around 2000 O_o). Fear not, it hasn't been abandoned! Again, thanks for reveiwing! Song :) Harry is 7 years old and treated literally like a dog by the Dursleys. Will he be rescued by the wizarding world? Will he ever be fit to take on the mantle of The Boy Who Lived? Now Complete!

I look forward to the update! You seem to have put up quite a few chapters in such a short amount of time, and that has me excited :D Great job! Keira Author's Response: Thanks for the review, Keira! I have a lot of time to write at work, so I can get one chapter done a day, just about. I alternate between this story and "Walk the Shadows," which I just updated today. I appreciate your kind words, and hope the story continues to appeal. I'm certainly having fun writing it. Thanks again!
I like that you had Snape and Harry clear up the miscommunication between the words Freak and Magic when you did. Poor little Harry shouldn't have to live through that confusion anymore than he had to, lol. I loved the ending of that scene too. Little kids are so precious. I like the spell Severus used on the Dursley's as well, though I hope the repercussions are too harsh for five year old Dudley. Though he was a bullying git, he's still a small child who is moreso learning from his parents still than not. In any case, I think it's a smart idea to have their deeds come back to them. Good thinking :) Can't wait for the next chapter :D Keira Author's Response: Hi Kiera! Thanks for your review, every time I see one, I get all happy. :-) There'll be loads more miscommunications between Snape and the li'l nipper, don't fret, but this one had to get cleared up, although there will also be a lot more ocnversaations about how magic isn't bad, and neither are the people who use it. Mostly. As for Dudders, he's actually 7 (same age as Harry) but I get your point. He won't get anything back but what he's dished out. I'll have Sev explain more about the spell in an upcoming chapter, which should be . . . tomorrow? I hope? Thanks again, --rachel
Poor Harry. Poor poor Harry. His thoughts, and his past experiences, make me feel so bad for him. It's heartbreaking. And at the same time, I feel just as bad for Snape, for what he's going to have to accomplish - all in all - to heal Harry, especially with his own past to over come. Doing great :D Hope to see more soon! Keira Author's Response: I can not be forced to reveal the truth of the Blood Ritual, no matter how many cookies you offer me! ;-) And yeah, Snape and Harry really are just two messed up individuals. I guess that's why throwing them into cage matches and watching the fall out is so much fun. Thanks for the review!
And Hogwarts. Back so soon - but I'm sure the fun's only about to begin :D I hope to see more soon - it totally made my weekend to come check my email and see the update so soon (I know, I keep saying that, but it really does just make me so happy, lol) so thank you for that. Keira Author's Response: Hi Kiera, Yes, Harry;s got some favorite chores (and some he _hates_) but I was trying to sum up a bunch of stuff that might not have been very riveting reading. :-) Hogwarts is definitely a good place for fun (aka trouble) to happen. I should have a new chapter out by Monday, Tuesday at the latest. Thanks again for your reviews! |
