With a strange potion, new location and the odd Muggle Studies Professor along for the ride, Harry's in for an interesting summer, but why is Snape here? Dumbledore had better pray he gets all three back in one piece! Humor, Angst, No Mary Sues, No Romance, no real plot.

Title: Chapter 23: Snape's Trap 19 May 2007
Reviewer: curlybean (Signed)
Yah!!! Another chapter. I was just about to turn off my computer and go to bed when I saw that you had updated. You've made my day.

I love your Harry. He is so cute, and just the right mix of little-boy-Harry and teenage-Harry. He is definitely willful and stubborn at times, ALMOST a match for Snape. And I love that we can see a wee bit of softening with Snape. I predict that by the end of your story, Snape will love Harry as much as we do.

I don't know why, but I love to see 'stern Snape' trying to handle a disobedient Harry. He truly has no idea what he's doing, yet he always seems to do an excellent job. Very sweet.

Anyway, thanks for the update. Hopefully it won't be too long before the next.

Author's Response: I'm so glad that I made your day, even if it was so long ago. Thank you for all of your wonderful comments! Sorry for taking so long to update! I hope that you can enjoy the new chapter!

Oh my goodness! You have made my whole month by updating your story. I love how, little by little, Snape and Harry are figuring each other out. But, it seems to me that Harry is heading for a bit of trouble. Can't wait for your next update. Soon, I hope?

Author's Response: Wow, what a great compliment! Thank you! :) I just posted the next chapter.

Yay!!! An update. I absolutely love this story, so you can imagine how happy you've made me. I love the fact that Snape found himself feeling a little empathy for Harry. It was a fleeting moment, but it happened all the same. Definitely a step in the right direction.

I wonder why Snape would give Harry a command (hover) that he couldn't possibly obey or realistically refuse to obey. I'm sure there is a reason, I just can't figure it out. Seems like it would have been much better to command him to do something like sit or dance, but I'm sure I'll never understand how Snape's brain works.

Anyway, thanks for the wonderful chapter. I can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter. The tantrum? Doesn't bode well for Harry, does it? Take care...

    Author's Response:

Thank you so much for your review!!I am so glad that you like the story! Snape is trying to help Harry realize that he can stop himself from doing commands that make no sense, and that he doesn't want to do. If Snape gave Harry a command he could do, like to sit, well Harry would do it, and it would build the pathways in his head that would reinforce his obedience. However, not being able to do something coul, in theory, reinforce the pathways in his brain to disobey mind magoc. I hope that that made sense.

Sorry for taking so long to update! I hope that you will enjoy the new chapter, if you are still reading.

Awww....the long awaited tantrum. And it was all about noodles and vegetables, lol.

Loved the chapter, btw. I love how you are very, very slowly leading Snape to the realization that Harry is just a boy with too many expectations on his small shoulders. The boy needs as many advocates as he can possibly get and having Snape in his corner is just what he needs.

I loved Harry in this chapter. He is just a mess of little boy emotions and needs, isn't he? He definitely knows how to push Snape's buttons.

Hoppity was great in this chapter, too. Maybe some of her gentleness will rub off on Snape soon.

As for the subject of spanking, I neither agree nor disagree. After saying that, I do have to say that it would seem in character for Snape to be the type of 'parent' to use corporal punishment effectively. He definitely has a no nonsense approach to discipline, doesn't he?

There are some fanfictions out there that deal with the idea of spanking in a very responsible way and are very well written. Then, of course, there are others that are all about the punishments. Either way, what you said is perfect....."please be educated about everything you read.' Wise words, indeed.

Anyway, loved the chapter and I can't wait to see what happens next. More of gentle Snape moments, I hope. Thanks for sharing and take care.

Author's Response: Thank you, curlybean for your review! :) I love reading your comments. Yes, I believe that more gentle Snape moments will come, but slowly. :) I only wish that I were a faster writer. Sorry for taking so long to update. Thanks for being so patient with me!

Hermione's last statement might just be the biggest under=statement of the year. A lot of trouble just doesn't cover it, does it?

I loved the chapter and can't wait to find out what happens to our poor little Harry. I'm sure it will be nothing more than he truly deserves. Thanks so much for the update. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Of course we don't mind a quick update. In fact, we appreciate it so, so much.

Poor little Harry. It's so sweet that he wants Snape all to himself. And absolutely Slytherin in the way he went about getting rid of Tommy. Very clever and a bit scary (lol). I have to admit that I am happy that Tommy is gone too. He's a cute little guy, but I want Harry to have Snape all to himself, as well. He deserves it, doesn't he? Someone to call his own.

Anyway, thanks so much for the quick update. It was a wonderful early Christmas present. Take care...

Good to see an update from you. It's been a while. I love it that Snape is finally realizing that he cares for Harry. And Harry calling him "Uncle Sevvy" is too funny. But the best part, by far, was when Snape asked "Is this what you do to the Dark Lord?" Laughed out loud at that one.

    Thanks for the update...

Harry is hurt and loses his voice. Will Snape help him find it again?

Aaaawww!!! Harry finally had a good Christmas morning. Snape's gift was perfectly Snape-like. He definitely is a practical sort of person. And, I absolutley loved Harry's gift for Snape. More than that, though, I loved Ron's reaction to it. Very funny.

Author's Response: Snape is a very practical person.  It was all he could do not to get Harry a Potions for Dummies book!

That was a bit of a plot hole, wasn't it? I, of course, didn't catch it. I'm not too good at catching those things. But, you did an excellent job of filling in that hole. Very believable.

I love that Snape gave in to Harry's request. He's not exactly a pushover, but I think he could see how important that was to Harry. Now, though, I think he has opened the door for more issues, the biggest one being that Harry is very, very slowly beginning to view him as being somewhat parental.

    Thanks for the update...

    Author's Response:

Hmm, I thought I had responded to this, but apparently not.

I'm glad you found I filled the plot hole well.  I remember being horrified when I discovered it, and set to writing right away.

And no, Snape's not a pushover, but he certainly was growing weaker by the minute ;)

What a sweet chapter. My favorite part was when Snape (finally) realized that he was too far gone to save himself. Loved it. And I can imagine that Snape would like nothing better than to be able to smack that all-knowing look right off of Dumbledore's face.

Thanks so much for the update. It truly was a great chapter, and I look forward to the next.

    Author's Response:

Hahaha, that little moment is one of my favourites too.  Yeah, Dumbledore can be irritating with his twinkle and all, but I think SNape knows deep down that the Headmaster is right.

    Waaaay deep down.
