Author's Response: Thanks: I really wanted to write a 'twisty' tale and I'm glad whenever one of my plot twist comes as a surprise to the reader because, as someone who reads way too many books, I always find the more unpredictable stories most entertaining. Harry and Severus thought once Voldemort died, they'd finally have the opportunity to live normal lives, preferably far away from each other. However, thanks to a Minister out for revenge, a Death Eater who needs a reality check, and a meddling Headmaster, normal and separate are the last words either could use to describe their next year at Hogwarts as they start their newest adventure as master and apprentice.

- An excellent story! I am intrigued with all the different things going on, excited to see where they'll lead us. Nice work!
Voldemort is gone and Harry's relatives had no desire to keep Harry for long, so he was placed into an orphanage until he was adopted by a family. But when they pass away a few years later, he is placed into the custody of another who had just moved to Spinner's End. That is when Severus first saw the boy without even knowing who he was. The little boy, seven years old, who was always forgotten, uncared for and treated like filth. Severus watches this boy and sees a reflection of his own childhood. And when they meet, Severus vows to offer kindness where no one else does, in the form of a simple piece of food the boy lacked or a warm blanket for the cold days ahead. And when things get worst, he even offers shelter to the child the world had forgotten and cast aside.
The boy Severus now wants to save.

- Nice chapter. Interesting plan, I was hoping they'd spill the drink. Now I'm not sure what to expect. I hope they don't succeed in taking away Harry's magic and protection.

- Excellent story! I thoroughly enjoyed every chapter. I promise to review them all from now on. I loved the conversation between Snape and Dumbledore with Snape realizing he has these feelings. My suggestion for Ron and Hermione is to keep the three together as strong friends, as they had been throughout the canon books. It is a central and, in my view, essential part of the Harry Potter world. Ginny, too, can be a lovely girlfriend or little sister figure in his life. I love stories that show these kids as strong fighters for "right" and as loyal friends. That's how they were in canon and it worked well for JKR. I doubt they'd take Harry's need for Snape very well at first but if they all truly care for Harry they'd easily see how much happier and healthier he is and be grateful to Snape for that. As for conflict, presumed betrayal that isn't kept up for too long often and in the end, strengthens the bond works well. You have some very resentful Slytherins there. Maybe one or more of them... Draco possibly as he knows Snape well in many stories...could plant something for Snape to find that appears to have been written/done by Harry and that hurts Snape would work. Then you could show Harry's strength in his desire to fix what went wrong and prove his innocence. Just a suggestion, though, I'm sure whatever you come up with will be excellent reading.
