When Harry finds an injured Snape on his doorstep and must hide him from the Dursleys, he has no idea that this very, very bad day will be the start of something good.

Harry and Snape are thrown together by annoying relatives, a series of strange dreams, and Voldemort's latest hunt for Harry, but their greatest challenge may well be surviving each other. This will be a long summer unless the two can find a way to work together. A slow-burn enemy-to-mentor story.

Alternate 6th summer (and part of the school year): post-OotP; ignores HBP and DH.

Your story is great! I usually don't like abused Harry but this is good, not over done and on his death bed like some. And I love your Snape! That's the best part. He's so in character. The interaction between the characters is good and I've laughed a few times. And I have to say, my own faith in Snape aside, that in that last chapter, there was a moment where I was like, "OMG! Harry's a deadman." Awesome!

    Author's Response:

I'm so glad you like it!  I tried to keep the abuse believable and not overdone...  And I'm so happy I was able to make you laugh a few times!  It's nice to get perspectives from people who aren't nose to nose with the story.

Thanks for reviewing! I hope you keep reading and enjoying it!

"Harry remained quite still for a moment, then hurled the mirror back into the trunk where it shattered."-Order of the Phoenix. Harry accidentally cuts himself on Sirius's mirror after breaking it. He then runs into someone unexpected, who has his own thoughts on the situation... Written for the "Accidental Cut Challenge"

Thanks for your story! I was actually squirming during parts of it. Actually, I'm still smiling. "We'll sort it out." LMAO.
I especially like how Snape was adamant that the problem, whatever it was, would be dealt with. Lord, that was great.
You should change the summary because I must have passed this story over several times before reading it in curiosity...and I'm glad I did!

This is my attempt at a challenge. The 'Potions and Snitches' challenge posted by Jan AQ. Need opinions on this one. Would anybody like to appear in this story? Yes, if you so wish you may be in the story!

The end of this chapter, where Snape is swinging in the darkness like a vampire bat pendulum…WOW! The image is still in my mind. And I actually had a shiver of sympathy for those girls when you mentioned the expression on his face. Very smart, those two, running off. That was pretty funny too, come to think of it.
    Thanks!
Oh, btw. I don’t think this does constitute a Mary Sue. I actually think that if the writers on this site were transported into canon, something this silly would ensue.
    Great fun!

    Author's Response:

Everyone seems to have so much fun on this site.  I can't help but imagine what tortures (hillarious ones mind) ^-^ we could all put poor Harry and Sev through if we got sucked into the Harry Potter world. ^v^

Thanks so much for your review chuckyhun Xx

After Harry is caught for exploding a cauldron in 2nd year Potions, Snape insists he keep a firm hand on the boy he must secretly protect. However, he discoveres that there is more to the twelve year old than unruliness and disrespect. Similarly, Harry learns from and gains a new perspective of his professor.

I think that was very well written. I felt genuinely bad for Harry when he felt shame, but it was right in this case. A good point in this story is how much more painful seeing disappointment from someone can be versus anger. And everyone was in character too. You write well, you should definitely keep it up if you have any ideas. And if you don’t, do a challenge! Thanks for posting this.

    Author's Response:

Thank you so much!  I'm a HUGE fan of your story, so a review such as yours is quite flattering :)

I'm actually gaining more confidence every minute as a writer, so I'll be sure to post some more stories.  I've actually written a Harry/Sirius fic that I'm planning on posting at ff.net in the next couple of days.  You can read it if you want.  *nudge nudge* lol.

Thanks again for your thoughtful review.  I really appreciate it.

Wow! Sorry I haven’t been on to read this lately. Especially since it’s so AWESOME! I felt so tense in this chapter, like I was in a horror movie. I almost looked over my own shoulder I was sympathizing with Harry so much. Great style in this chapter! And I was very proud of him that he returned the vials. Though I’m curious now what he’ll say to Ron and Hermione about that. Spitting image indeed. I wonder what Snape must be thinking now. Well, thanks for the great story. On to the next chapter.

    Author's Response:

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!  And congrats on your featured story :)

The Ron and Hermione conversation will appear in chapter 7.  I guess I'm trying this approach with Harry where he actually attempts to do the right thing/be accountable.  Of course, he's twelve, so even though he tries...well, what can I say...he's Harry.  lol.

Thanks again for the great review!

Oooh, I liked Snape’s suggestion in this one. More consistent discipline. Hehe! I was conflicted with Harry when he came up with his brilliant plan. Smack him for planning something that’s bound to get him into trouble, or cheer him on and hope he gets away with it. LOL! This might seem odd, but my favorite part was your description of Harry lying in bed, going from hot to cold as he threw his blankets on and off. It was just so exactly like how I am on the nights that I’m worried about something happening the next day. Well written and I’m glad you’ve decided to continue this story! Thank you!

Author's Response: That was my favorite part to write...mainly because that's how I act when I can't sleep on nights when I'm anticipating something.  It's funny how we kind of all do the same things. lol.  Thanks for reviewing again!  By the way, your update just made my day!
