About me:

I have been aquainted with fanfiction for quite some time and find that in these days after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, that it has become all the more prominant staple in my life.  I have yet to try to write any Harry, Severus fanfiction or any pretaining to Harry Potter characters in general but enjoy reading them immensly!  Thus, I find myself to be a reader and reviewer instead of a writer...

...Well, perhaps not now anymore...I finally started posting my pre-Hogwarts fic, "The Truth About Tomorrow."

Ok, so reading and reviewing is still a lot better than writing, I'm not terribly creative and in my fic you'll find some borrowed information from other fics that you've read.  It's never something major, but the reference and connection can be seen if you look really closely.  This information also is usually something that has been accepted as 'true' in the fic world.  But the main plot of the fic is still mine...if I ever do plot it out fully.  I should really do that some day..

Awww...that ending scene is just too perfect! Really great chapter and keep writing, you've definatly got a good muse!

I really enjoyed seeing Harry's inner monologue when he was deciding (or trying to decide) how to act toward Severus. It seems that their relationship has progressed at a good rate and is extremely realistic the way you state it, with excellent characterization!

It was nice to see Harry realize that his life has changed-through denouncing his title of Seeker. It would be cool if he continued to play, but understandable if he instead decides to practice deuling or something "more important" to him now that Voldermort is out and about. It's good to see this maturity and acceptance of fate, I guess you could call it. Well, good luck with that!

Hopefully we get more on Severus' background, which will let his relationship with Harry grow even more. I do wonder how Potions will go this coming term...I forget, does Voldermort know that Severus betrayed him?...I think so...I do wonder how he will be treated in the classroom by his Slytherins, especially if he alters his teaching style and begins to encourage his students (including a particular trio of sixth-year Gryffindors!)

Well, write us another good chapter...and remember, it's not quantity, but quality that matters! Truthfully, I didn't notice that it was a short chapter because so much was packed into it that kept it brilliant!!

    Author's Response:

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!  I thought Harry would be feeling very unsure about Severus at this point and how to act around him.  Severus has been much nicer than Harry initially expected, but after the past five years, he can't quite trust him yet either.  Harry just has lots of conflicting emotions about Severus right now.

Ultimately, Quidditch will become a moot point, but yeah, Harry does realize that things are changing for him, and that there are things more important.  Good thing Oliver Wood wasn't in Harry's place, huh?  The Wizarding World would be in big trouble.

And yep, there will be more about Severus' past coming up later, and Potions class will be a little different this year.

Thanks again for your kind words.  I guess the chapter really isn't that short---it's longer than the previous one anyway.  It just seemed shorter to me because there was a lot more I wanted to put into it, but oh, well,  there's always the next chapter, right?

Great Chapter!! I really loved it, and since I didn't get an e-mail update for Chapter 13, I'll review that one too!

Loved the awkwardness that Severus expresses when he talks to Harry about letting him use his first name. It was so realistic and semi-uncharacteristic of Severus, but it works here! I think that's only because Severus and Harry have really become close so it was perfect to have Severus show some of his insequrities.

Also loved the mirror escapade, it was done really well and I loved how Harry reacted and pretended to act like everything was fine-so typical, not letting anyone help him. Severus also handled the situation admirably. Good job!

I was really worried when Harry and Severus were talking about the new Defence Professor...thinking that it was Severus and Slughorn was the new Potions Professor, meaning that the events of your fic would have to follow more closely to cannon. BUT, needless to say, I didn't have to worry! Because you're original and brilliant, and I love the way you've incorporated Slughorn into the story. Awesome job!

I really can't wait until Harry gets back into classes, to see how the Slytherins react to him and his Potions Professor...how are things going for Severus with his betrayl in the open and lots of death-eaters-in-training with him in class and the dungeons? Well, I hope they're not being too Slytherin and am excited to see how Severus treats Harry in class as well. Well, good luck writing, you're doing a great job!!

    Author's Response:

Hi pkrosche!  Thank you for the extra long review!  I'm glad you didn't give up on the story.  I'm glad you approve of Severus' uneasiness when he asked Harry to call him by his first name.  I decided that while Severus is normally very cool and collected, he might be nervous about letting someone become close to him, it's been so long since he's really tried to become friends with anyone, and personal relationships aren't really his strong point.  So I could see him wanting very much to reach this milestone with Harry, but not knowing exactly how to bring the subject up and feeling awkward about it.

I'm glad you like Slughorn being DADA instructor, well, substitute and assistant, rather than the Potions teacher.  I thought it would be kind of  funny to have the story be "HP and the Potions Professor" if I then went ahead and had Severus be the Defense teacher instead.  As for similarities with HBP, some things will be the same, but many others will be different, too, of course.

Harry will probably be going back to class in another chapter or two.  And that's another reason I needed Severus to still be in Potions---there are a couple of scenes I want to write between him and Harry in Potions class.  Don't worry too much about Sev and the Slytherins---he's quite good at looking ahead and anticipating difficulties.  Thanks again, I'm happy you liked it!

"We'll make your room after we've eaten." Oh, to be a wizard! Great update! I love how the relationship between Harry and Severus has grown.

I really liked Harry's uneasiness at returning to the Tower, and Seveurs' responce of letting him stay in the Dungeons with him. It was great, and I love that line too! Like, it takes months for us muggles to add on a room to a house, much less a dungeon! But great characterization on our two favorite guys!

It was also great to have Neville and Luna stop by, and Ginny too!! But, Luna had said how difficult O.W.L. year is, I thought she was in the same year as the trio. Hmm, it's been a while since I've read Order of the Pheonix.

But I can't wait until Harry returns to classes, next chapter right?, right? Ahh! I can't wait!! Good luck writing!

    Author's Response:

It would be wonderful to have magic, wouldn't it?  I can't tell you how many times I've started cleaning my house and wished that I could just snap my fingers (or wave a wand) and have it all be done.  I'm glad you liked Harry's and Severus' relationship in this chapter.  I meant to show that they took a significant step here---they've been growing closer, but it was circumstances beyond their control (Harry's injuries) that threw them together.  Now they're consciously planning for the friendship to continue once Harry is well.

Glad you liked Neville and Luna, and Harry will go back to class soon, but I'm not sure if it will happen in the next chapter or the one after---I let the characters start talking and then they just won't quit, you know.

    Thanks again!

Awww!! I love this! Poor Harry, and awesome Severus! This chapter was just brilliant!

I love the discriptions of Harry's trepidation at returning to class, especially Potions. It also fits perfectly that he would feel that way about asking Severus for help, he's helped him so much already. Also liked how Harry reacted to Neville's body bind, although it felt a little out of character for him to divulge that piece of information so bluntly. But then again, he wanted to tell them in as few words as possible. I'm so glad that Harry and Severus have progressed this far, it really was a long way.

Sorry for the short review, but it was a truly impressive chapter and I can't wait for more!!

Author's Response: Thank you!  I'm so glad you liked it!  I got a rather mean review on FF.N about Severus in this chapter, so I'm so happy that people here liked it!  I do think Harry might feel a little nervous about returning to class, so much has happened to him.  He knows that things are different between him and Severus now, but I think deep inside he still has some issues about the past--they really haven't dealt with it, after all.  But they have come a long way, and they'll get through it.  Thanks again!

Yay for next chapter!! But I feel really bad, what did Harry do to Draco? (It's really been a long time since I've re-read all of your story...I'll get on that soon!) But really great chapter!

I didn't find the conflicting feelings Harry has towards Severus confusing. It makes sense that he's unwilling to just forget the past eventhough he want's to move on and accept Severus into his life as a guardian of sorts. He really does need Severus' support and eyes looking out for him. Hopefully they'll learn something about each other during this new Occlumency session (that's not too damaging, but a little agnst is ok) that'll end up bringing them closer together.

Also looking forward to the lessons with Dumbledore, they should be fun and usefull...does he talk about horcruxes at all?...hmmm... Well, it should be fun for Harry to learn new spells and maybe even try them out on a certain potions professor...

I really do like the way Harry and Severus' relationship has progressed in your story and I can't wait to read more! Enjoy your weekend! (But not too much, because you've got to work on Chapter 18!)

    Author's Response:

Thank you!  Don't feel bad.  Harry hasn't done anything to Draco in this story.  Draco's comment is a throwback to the Ministry battle in OotP, when Lucius was revealed as a Death Eater and sent to Azkaban.  Somehow, in Draco's mind, this is Harry's fault.  I think Draco did actually say something to that effect at the end of OotP.

I'm glad you understand Harry's conflicting feelings.  He does like Severus, but it's hard to let go of the past, especially since they've never really dealt with it.

I hope it doesn't disappoint you, but I'm probably just going to skim through Dumbledore's lessons, because they're pretty much what happened in HBP, where Harry learns more about Voldemort's past and about the Horcruxes.  Just now, Severus is going to know all about it, too, at the same time.

I may try to begin ch. 18 tomorrow.  Thanks again!

    YAY!! UPDATE!! Really great chapter!

I was excited to read, albeit a little dissapointed that you didn't get to Dumbledore yet. But, that's ok. This chapter was still perfect! I love the connection that Harry and Severus have and can't wait to see more! I hope that Harry gets more of these chances to open up to Severus and let him know what his life was like at the Dursleys. I'm super excited for the next chapter, when do you think it'll be out?! (I need some more distractions from finals!) Good luck with writing! *short review*

Author's Response: Thank you!  Sorry to disappoint you about Dumbledore, but he'll be in the next chapter, I think.  I'm really enjoying writing Harry and Severus, and having them become closer and closer.  Severus will learn everything about the Dursleys over the course of the year, but no more for a little while.  It is hard for Harry to open up about them, and it'll take time.  I'm not sure about the next chapter.  I'll try to post it sometime next week, but I'm not sure exactly when.  Thanks again!

Awww...*giant smile spreads across face* Love, love that ending. It's just soo perfect. Almost, too perfect and I have a feeling that something is going to happen that will make Harry happy Severus is so paranoid. We'll see, I guess! Keep writing! OH, and YAY for the site being back up, with updates! (I'm going to be busy tonight!)

I really liked how you set up Dumbledore's lessons, it makes sense and it's a great improvement to have Severus along. I also enjoyed their discussion afterwords over hot chocolate...And I adore Severus' adversion to sweets, he's so silly!

It's also really great to see how their relationship has progressed. I gasped out loud when Harry snidely remarked, "Yes, Dad." And, of course loved the awkwardness that followed. It was played out perfectly and I adored how they handled it later in that scene, Harry and his insistent need to apologise. *scoffs* I do wonder if this is going to be a Snape adopts Harry fic, perhaps at the end of this year, yes? Especially since Severus has displayed extreme dislike towards the Dursleys...hmmm...

I always love the Trio in its entirety in your story, they're just soo perfect! I want to give them all hugs for making Harry not feel so alone and singled-out. (Hug for you too, of course!) Hopefully, Harry never forgets how important his friends are to him and keeps them close at hand.

Well, until next chapter! Happy Weekend!

    Author's Response:

Thank you!  I loved reading your review!  I'm glad you approve of the way the lessons with Dumbledore are going--hopefully it'll sort of streamline the plot, and give me more time to write important things, like Severus and Harry, lol.

I do think Severus and Harry have come a long way, and it was fun putting the 'Yes, Dad' line in there.  Harry intended it as a joke, but then realized that it was sort of true--that they really are starting to act like family, more than professor and student.  And then he was afraid that Severus would be uncomfortable with the idea so he quickly retreated.  And I think the line kind of gave Severus a jolt, but he doesn't really mind.

As for adoption,  I don't know.  I've planned all along for their relationship to remain 'unofficial' as far as the legal side goes, that is, not having Severus be Harry's legal guardian or adopted father.  But that's mainly because they spend most of the year just getting close, and by the end of the year,  Harry will almost be legally of age anyway.  But they do grow very close, and Severus is very committed to Harry.  Being with Harry, protecting him and guiding him will become Severus' top priority, actually, by this point it is already.   So in all the ways that really count, in their hearts, Harry and Severus will become father and son, even if it's not actually a legal adoption.

And Ron and Hermione are great!  I've always loved them, and thought that Harry was lucky to have them at his side.

    Thanks again!

*Gasp* How did I miss this update???? *screams in agony* Eventhough I missed it on the first round and it was 'short' (which I don't think is a bad thing, it was a good place to end!) this was still a powerful chapter!

It was smart of Hermione to use the mirror to contact Snape, and luckily Dumbledore was there at the time. I also like how you continue to add cannon facts to the story while keeping it your own. It was also great to see Severus come to terms with his and Harry's relationship, to also see what he wants out of that relationship as well.

I'm just glad that I don't have to wait for another update but can keep reading, so if you'll excuse me...

Author's Response: I'm so glad you found it!  Your comments are always fun to read!  Youknew that mirror was going to come in handy, didn't you?  I laid it on pretty thick.  Yep, Severus and Harry just continue to make progress, but there are still some bumps in the road ahead.

I just love this chapter, full of Snape-fueled emotion! It was great to see him break down (almost) and then even apologise to Ron and Hermione. I do love the progress in character that he's made here, and was a little surprised to see that he was so unafraid to show his true feelings towards Harry.

I can't wait to see what happens with this Elizabeth Stone, I although, have a feeling that she was under the Imperious Curse...I remember something about her eyes..hmm. Well, I trust Dumbledore will get it all sorted out.

Hopefully Harry will wake up soon! Because I seriously can not wait for the next chapter, please don't make us wait long!

    Author's Response:

Thank you!  Severus is pretty open with his emotions here, but I think it's because of several things  happening.  First, he was already moved by the conversation with Dumbledore when D. first came in and thanked him for the elixir.  Then the whole thing with Harry being cursed again was so sudden and unexpected, and so scary, that he was really rattled.  Also, I'd like to think that Severus is beginning to realize that he needs to change, that his way of dealing with people isn't good for him or anybody else, and that he's just getting to the point where he realizes it's possible for him to change, if he has the courage to, that is.

Right now, I'm not sure how big a role Elizabeth Stone will play, but she may well become a minor recurring character... we'll see.  And ooh, you noticed about her eyes being glassy, I wondered if anyone would!

I know in your profile you said youi only read fics, but you really should think about writing, too.  I think you have a good grasp on the characters and their feelings and motivations.

Title: Chapter 22: Chapter 22 15 Jan 2008

I loved this chapter!! It was great to see more of how deeply Severus cares for Harry and although Harry surely cares for Severus, is still not understanding all that's going on...very in character! Acutally, everyone was extremely in character!!

I really liked how Severus reacted to Harry's "you need to keep me alive so I can kill Volie" statement, it was very heartfelt and so true! I really can't wait to see how Harry adjusts to life in the dungeons and how he reacts when he finally realizes that Severus is giving up a lot in order to keep Harry safe too.

It was good to see someone else thinking along the same lines as me for once on the topic of Holloween. I never quite understood why Harry was so ok with Holloween, I'm pretty sure that if my parents were murdered, I'd feel depressed on that certain day. So, I like how you put that in, eventhough it was kinda depressing to me...but, Sev being nice and understanding about it made that go away pretty fast.

I, along with lots of other readers aparently, like how you've brought Fleur back into the story. Hopefully she'll be hanging around Sev's office and quarters so we can see her some more!

I seriously can't wait to see some of these tutor lessons...hmmm...and Sev's reaction to the blood quill. That should be interesting. So, is Harry going to head the DA still and is it going to be in the dungeons...hmmm...I don't suppose you can really answer those, I'll just have to wait for the next chapter. Hope it comes soon!

I actually am working on a fic of my own, but want to get lots of it written before posting...so hopefully I'll get something on here eventually!

Good Luck with the next chapter!

    Author's Response:

Thank you!  I do think the prophecy may have affected Harry's self-esteem in ways that he doesn't even realise.  But knowing now that he is the only one who can defeat Voldie, probably does cause him to wonder sometimes if people (read Dumbledore and other adults) really, truly care for him, or if they care more about his role in the war.  So I wanted Severus to reassure him on that point..

Yes, I agree totally about Halloween.  Even if Harry doesn't really remember  his parents very well, you'd think he'd at least reflect on them  and their deaths when the date approaches.

See, I told you I had a reason for showing that Fleur was good at Potions... I'm thinking her being at Hogwarts next year during the DH year will be important, too.  I may even have Bill Weasley play a role at Hogwarts before its over.

Harry will still be involved in the DA.  As Severus will point out in the next chapter, he was trying to tell Harry that  he's going to arrange for him to do a few things with his friends, with Severus there for protection.

Oh, I'm glad to hear you're working on a fic!  I'm looking forward to it.  If you don't mind, I'd love to know what it's about!
