When Severus Snape is left in charge of Hogwarts over the Christmas break, he is less than pleased to discover Harry will be one of his charges. Events force him to face that Mr. Potter may not be quite what he has assumed all these years.

- I've really enjoyed these past two chapters. Severus and Harry made great progress in their relationship. I'm glad that Severus recognized how unfair he's been to Harry and has taken steps to correct it. It's fascinating how Harry's magical abilities have wreaked havoc on his potions, but hopefully now Severus will have a better understanding of how to help him. I also loved how Severus explained to Harry that his failure at Occlumency was not his fault and helped him to give up the burden of blaming himself for Sirius' death.
It was fun to imagine Severus playing games with the students and I'm glad that he's going to join them for Christmas dinner. It was really nice of Harry to give gifts, not only to Severus, but to Filch as well. I really enjoyed that scene, and hope that Harry's kindness will have unexpected dividends in the future.

- I'm so glad to see you're posting here again! I love this story. I've been following along on FF.N and I adore how you've built the relationships between Harry and Severus, Harry and Remus, and Severus and Remus. I love how Harry is able to see/talk with his parents and Sirus, and how they're helping him.

- Great story, Morgana! It's sad to see what the years have done to Severus, but I almost wonder if being lost in this foggy twilight might be easier in some ways than if he still had his memories.
At least he has Harry to take care of him. I loved Albus; he was great!
Author's Response: Thanks. Yes, I agree; in some ways, Severus is happier, in that, when he's feeling secure, he has moments of childlike bliss, whereas the younger Severus was always haunted by guilt and unpleasant reccollections. I'm glad you liked Albus; I based him on my own parrot who varies between being the most aggressive, rude and spiteful little bugger imaginable and the sweetest most empathetic and gentle bird you could hope to meet lol! (I think a parrot would be a great pet for Snape; he'd secretly enjoy the backchat and be absolutely gleeful when the 'ignorant' creature swore at or otherwise insulted people he didn't like but for whom he had to outwardly show respect)
Harry and Hermione are de-aged to four year olds, and Snape is stuck looking after them.

- Aw, very cute chapter! I loved that Draco has learned to get along with little Harry and Hermione...and hope that it will continue when/if they are re-aged.
It's really great to see Severus unbending and having some fun with the children. The shaving scene was adorable and tobogganing sounded fun until Sev's accident. Draco is pretty brave...maybe he should have been in Gryffindor!
I'm sorry about your dog. My dog died a year ago, and even though she had a long and happy life, it was still hard and I still miss her. She was one of the family.
Locking Harry in the broom closet was the catalyst that unlocked a whole flurry of issues that young Harry and Severus must now begin to work through... together.

- What a perfect ending! I'm glad to know that Voldemort is gone and that both Harry and Severus survived, although not unscathed, it seems. Hopefully Severus will continue to recover.

- Great story! You're always so creative at coming up with new ones. I love how Severus is reaching out to Harry, even when Harry is trying to push him away. The poor kid is having such a hard time, and has suffered so much. He does have difficulty accepting kindness, wanting it but being confused and feeling unworthy of it at the same time. I'm glad that Severus was able to help him.
