Looking forward to more! Author's Response: I thought a nice Petunia would be a nice change since in most stories she is portrayed the same as in the books and movies
Author's Response: Hehe, Harry and Dudley are going to have some fun times at the castle. Okay, you've convinced me. Sequel to Freaks Aren't Allowed. This is a series of one shots designed to fill in some of the blanks between Harry's first year with Snape and his first year at Hogwarts. Childfic. Fluff.

It's great to see how much Harry has changed and how happy both he and Severus are now.
Looking forward to more! *short story* The painful remnants of Little Harry's old life comes to haunt his nightmares.

A sequel sounds like a wonderful idea! Author's Response: Thank you for the support, but sequel's coming up in 11 plus months time... Thanks a lot for the review though, I really appreciate it! A family Christmas tradition brings about memories and a special evening for a father and his young son.

Great job! Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. The dove tradition was actually inspired by my aunt, who hangs up a dove for my Grandfather (who died in 2003) on her tree every year. Thank you so much for the review! Have a merry Christmas! :-) Conflicted by his Muggle and Wizarding heritage, Harry struggles to uncover his true family's beliefs and Christmas traditions. (Written for Christmas 2010.)

I love how you wrote about the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus' birth and salvation, and had Severus come to believe. And for Harry to discover a true memory just made it perfect. Author's Response: I kept puzzling over JKR's treatment of Christmas in the books, and I finally couldn't leave it alone! Poor Harry is standing a spiritual crossroads, and I took a chance and had guidance come from a most unlikely source! I kept hoping I could pull it off believably, but the response has been overwhelmingly positive, so I can BREATHE again! :-) Thank you SO much for reviewing! (I sat there, staring at my phone: Kristeh! KRISTEH reviewed! Whoa! --yep, I'm a fan!) Set in the seventies, "Christmas Past" is a glimpse at the unlikely friendship between a Gryffindor girl and a Slytherin boy, as seen by a Hogwarts House-Elf.

Author's Response: Thanks ^^, when I was writing the following story, I was trying to think of a chapter and 'Christmas Present' came to me. However, as I'm a Dickens fan,'Christmas Past' and 'Christmas Future' immediately came to mind and, as the story spans three time frames, it seemed only natural to break it into three chunks. And who better to introduce Severus and Lily's Christmas tradition than the elf who saw it begin ^^ 'Discipline' means 'to teach' but Professor Severus Snape's detentions generally only teach his students not to push their luck. One December evening, however, Harry Potter learns something rather unexpected about his least-favourite teacher, something that will set in motion a chain of events which will heal rifts, change opinions and make this Yule a year to remember.
Set in Harry's third year, 'Christmas Present' is the second installment of a three-part series. All couples are canon and romance is only implied ;) Takes Place: 4th summer - Snape flavour: None Tags: None Categories: Snape Equal Status to Harry > Foes Snape and Harry, Teacher Snape > Trusted Mentor Snape

I also loved how Harry reciprocated with the gifts for the professors, and how he and Severus seem to have come to truce, hopefully a permanent one. Having Albus reconcile with Gellert Grindelwald was also very touching to me, but only because Gellert has recognized how wrong he was and is remorseful. Hopefully they can both find some peace now. Wonderful job! Author's Response: Thanks ^^. The way I envisioned it, baking the biscuits would be a bittersweet ritual; it'd evoke memories of simple, innocent happiness, love and loneliness. Severus does it partially in rememberance of Lily and partially to remind himself that, although the years have damaged and changed him, there is something of the boy he used to be still within him. Harry's reciprocation showed him a facet of Lily in her son and, as Severus loved her dearly, I think one could say that something has definately changed within their dynamic. I'm glad you like the reconciliation between AD and GG; the appeal of their story is rather dependant upon the audience's mindset with regards to gay literature but, if you can get past that hurdle, their love is probably the most beautiful and tragic of the HP pairings- Lily and Severus included. Petunia Dursley is cleaning the attic and finds a previously unknown copy of Lily’s will. Ecstatic at her discovery, she promptly abandons her burdensome nephew, along with Lily’s will, on the doorstep of her childhood nemesis (aka, Severus Snape). ***SEQUEL "Lily's Last Wish" NOW POSTED***

Anyway, I love how you write Harry and Severus and the slow development of their relationships, with all the misunderstandings and mistrust. It seems very real. I'm sorry about your son and hope he has a quick recovery! Looking forward to the next chapter! |
