About me:

Hi, everyone.  I'm a long-time HP fan, but new to reading and writing HP fanfics.  Of course Harry and Severus are favorites, but I really like almost all the characters.

I'm a preschool teacher, and happily married with two children who also love HP.  Other things to know about me?  Hmm, I love horseback riding, reading, and spending time with my family and friends.  I love coming to talk with other fans on the internet, and I love reading fanfics.

When he ran away he made himself nameless, just another waif of the streets, though, somehow, in the tumultuous belly of Hogwarts, one young woman grows hopeless, a young man finds his strength to keep believing and a jaded professor finds his barriers cracking.

"...Then leaf subsides to leaf,

So Eden sank to grief,

So dawn goes down to day,

Nothing gold can stay."*

I loved it! Poor Harry, I can easily see how things just overwhelmed him and he couldn't stand it anymore. I'm glad that people have realized how much they do care for him, even if it's a bit late, and I feel so sorry for Ron and Hermione lost in their grief and fear. I like how Ron can sense that Harry is still alive though. Ron has always seemed intuitive to me, so I think that really fits.

Now Severus just needs to find Harry. It's dangerous for a kid out on the streets like that. Looking forward to more!

Author's Response: It's as the Joni Mitchell songs goes, "Don't it always seem to go that you don't know what you got 'till it's gone." Sometimes, it takes something horrid to remember that someone is just as human as you are; it's a concept I've wanted to write about for a while. :) Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! :)

If especially strong-willed, sometimes the dead can interfere with the events of the living. Lily Evans is a very strong-willed woman and is not happy with the course of events in her son's life. She is planning, and slowly building her energy so that she can step in and set things to right.

I'm really enjoying your story! It's very well-written and I love how Lily is doing her best to help Harry and to let Severus know he's in the wrong. Hopefully Severus will soon see that for himself.

    Looking forward to more!

When Umbridge's detentions get too much for Harry to handle, he finds himself back in the hospital wing. Will Umbridge finally get her comeuppance? Response to a challenge by Jan_AQ.

Great story! Poor Harry. He's so used to dealing with everything on his own and he's really never had anyone he could turn to with his problems. I'm glad Severus has realized what's happening. I love protective Sev!

Great ending! I love how Severus tricked Umbridge so perfectly. I felt badly for Harry at first, even though I knew it would work out, but I suppose it had to be that way. I'm glad to see Harry and Severus communicating a little better. Maybe it can be the start of a better relationship for them. And Severus gets to be the DADA professor...I'm happy for him.

    Great job!

Back for second year, Harry chooses to follow a new path and it's no simple highway. He's depressed and angry; tired of trying to be someone he's not. Snape may be the only one capable of providing the support Harry needs. OOC Snape and Harry. AU.

Aw, poor Harry. He sounds like he's suffering from depression. I had never thought of how staying with the Weasleys over the summer could be hard for him, but it makes perfect sense. It gives him a close look at what he's missing.

    Great beginning!

Author's Response: Thank you! I always felt like Harry would struggle with seeing the Weasley family together because of his own situation, and I appreciate you noticing that part of the chapter.

Harry's self esteem problems are really hurting him now. It's so bad that he believes that Snape was right to mistreat him, poor kid.

But he's really handling it badly, alienating his frieds and even worse, turning to alcohol. I hope someone (Snape?) can help him soon.

Well, I'm glad that Severus has noticed that Harry needs help, even if he's not keen to take on that role yet, lol!

Title: Chapter 4: The Hangover 18 Oct 2011

Well, I'm glad that Harry isn't as angry. Maybe he needed to know that someone cared, even if it was by punishing him for his misdeeds. It's good to see him reaching out, just a little, to Ginny and not reacting with anger to Hermione.

Author's Response: I think that it'll make a big difference for Harry to see that people do care. Maybe he'll realize that things aren't as hopeless as they seem. :)

Harry’s Charms project creates a Halloween hazard for Snape. (Written for Halloween 2011.)

LOL, loving it! What a creative way for Harry to get back at Snape.

Author's Response: That's what I love to hear! Definitely creative ... but this IS Harry, and his plans don't always go as planned! Hope you'll enjoy the rest of the story, and thanks for the review! :-)

A wonderful beginning! I've always felt so sorry for Severus during that last year, how alone he was during the most difficult time. I'm glad in your story that Poppy has seen through his act and is trying to help.

    Looking forward to more!
