After Harry talks to Dumbledore in Deathly Hallows, he takes a little detour to Spinner’s End, back before it was Snape’s house, back when it belonged to a woman named Eileen Prince. Snape couldn’t be angrier that Harry is his father.

Spend more time with your father? That was priceless. Very well done.

I was struck by an interesting piece of irony while reading this chapter. I thought of all the times Harry had some information he wanted to bring to the Headmaster's attention but didn't. (Just like Snape/Prince) And of course, in most of those instances he tried to solve it himself and ended up being saved by Snape. I can't help but wonder if there's a way for Harry to help Snape this time.

So, Severus is glad he can fly, even if he 'didn't really want to learn' in the first place. LOL (gotta love those sour grapes) I'm thinking that'll come into play later, huh?

    Author's Response:

Thanks, I’m glad you like that line, It’s Harry showing where Snape’s snark came from.

I wasn’t planning on Harry bailing Snape out of any of Snape’s mistakes, at least not new ones, but he does prove helpful to Snape.

I don't think they come into play plot wise, except that I have a running fox symbolism for Snape, and the icon I made for this is of the fox reaching for the grapes.  It also shows up in the epilogue, which I have already written.  I’m really pleasantly surprised that you caught it for what it was, and used exactly that phrase for it.

Well, now Ginny knows. More than she wanted to know, I'm sure. Guess my Mom was right about eavesdroppers. *tee-hee*

I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing how she deals with this fallout.

Nice job on the dialogue between Snape and Harry. I thought Snape used some pretty sound reasoning regarding both Salazar's bias and the basilisk. Gave me something to think about anyways.

    Author's Response:

You know, I think Ginny is glad she knows.  She's pissed at what she knows, but glad she knows it.  Heh.

I'm glad I gave you something to think about.  This was  incredibly hard to write.

    Very good.

I have to admit that I really liked this chapter. Everyone seeing the other person's faults and when they had their own pointed out they just pointed the attention back to the other. A nice little blame game.

I found myself thinking several times in this that they were doing a good job of being their ages. Both Ginny and Harry were acting so grown up one moment but not the next.

    Author's Response:

    Thank you!

I’m so glad you think they are being age appropriate.  Trying to keep them all true to character and as believable as possible is my main goal.  They’re both getting up on their high horses while trying to drag each other off of them.  It was a lot of fun to write.

Well done of Snape to give Harry a target for his anger and grief.

And poor Harry. He's right in a way. His magic is the only thing he thinks makes him redeemable as a human. Now to have that yanked away. Snape is going to have quite the battle ahead of him.

Author's Response: Yes, but it will work out eventually, as you will see.  And Snape is a very good instinctive psychologist.  Thanks for your review!

Whoa! When I read the part of him needing glasses at 17 months I thought it was a typo, but boy oh boy, you blew that theory right out of the water didn't you? He was two at the time of the attack?

Time for me to scurry to the next chapter and discover more of the truth.

Author's Response: Nope and just wait till you see what happens next!  Yes, I made him two in this story, to allow for more bonding between child and parents!

Yippee! I'm doing a happy dance in my chair!

I've always disliked the dichotomy of Dumbledore's treatment of the students. Of course, that's one of the things that makes him such a powerful character, but still...

Cheers for Snape and his decision here.

Author's Response: Yes and I did too, which is why I wrote it that way! Don't you just love it when Sev gets all riled? I could practically see steam coming out of his ears while I was writing this.  Yes, I'm a weird author, I visualize scenes in my head.  Thanks for the awesome reviews by the way!

What a nice plot bunny to be nibbling on your toes like that. :-)

I liked it. Especially the fact that Severus' son is named James. Too funny.

I'll keep an eye out for any other plot bunnies you might have.

    Hooray, Hawy go home.

Boy, oh boy, Snape's going to have his hands full for a long, long while, isn't he? Can't help but wonder why Harry took to Snape so quickly and not Dumbledore or Kingsley. I think that'll make for another interesting chapter, eh?

I'll be keeping an eye out for further updates. I'm interested in seeing where you're going to go with this story line. Thanks for sharing with us.

Author's Response: I think you're one of the few reviewers sympathising with Snape's plight rather than Harry's; he is indeed going to have his hands full.  As to the reason for Harry's response to him...read on, I'll get to it eventually

The Sorting Hat intentionally sorted several students into the wrong House. When it decides that it is time to correct that error or risk the fate of the world, Harry Potter's life is thrown upside down. Can he find solace in his new House, or are the wounds on his soul just too deep to heal?

I really like what you have here. And I must admit that I find your Mrs. Weasley amazingly scary. Yikes!

Looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for the story.

Author's Response: Yes, there is more to Mrs. Weasley than meets the eye here. Thanks! - August Sky
