I'm Moriyah, a 28 year old lover of words who discovered fanfiction at 14...14 years ago, dear Lord.  Though I love writing, procrastintaion and a tendancy to get wrapped up in work means that several stories have been on hold for years. Getting back into it is so difficult when you've been away. I'm currectly an Advanced EMT, Firefighter and on a Covid Taskforce in West Virginia while in Paramedic Class. This has been the busiest year of my life, and reminded me how much I missed the quiet joy of sharing what you love with others, in particular, stories.

    Author's Response: Thanks for the reviews :) I'm working on the sentences, it's not always easy when writing. I tend to mix up the punctuation rules for English and my native language. I totally missed the death thing, but I have more of those mistakes. Someone pointed out that I have Ones instead of Once and Than instead of Then, it's easy to miss when you've written and read a chapter not that long ago. I'll go over each chapter again in a few weeks. So thanks for pointing that one out, won't overlook it again :). And thank you for the comment about writing style and staying in character.. It's nice to hear, especially since most of the first few chapters were first drafts.. It's good to know I can do them right in one go, I'm having trouble with that in my original story. Sorry about the Cliffhanger, I won't do it to often.. I uploaded this on fanfiction as well and I wanted followers :P And last, I'm trying to keep my chapters between 6000 and 8000 words. I despise it when someone updates a chapter and I'm all happy and 2 minutes later I have to wait again..

    Hey there! I was glad to see you'd posted the first chapter, it is a very interesting beginning, I'm hoping we will get to see Harry's reaction to his relatives being killed, will he be truly sorrowful, unemotional because they never truly loved him (even though he had always wished they would have) or angry...it will be interesting. Even more interesting to see Draco and Snape's reactions to living with Harry for the summer, (and Harry's reaction to learning he'll have to do it!) I wonder if you will get someone to tell Harry, or if it will just be a surprise to him at the station! Dumbledore often doesn't let Harry onto his plans, and if Voldemort is trying to read Harry's mind still that might be a good reason not to tell him. Can you tell I'm intrigued? ^_^ Please update when you can!

    I wanted to answer this challenge so much for the fest, but could not think of an original idea, and here you come with this amazing story that is so much better than what I would have written it! I adore it, the slight humor in several spots made me smile, Harry stomping his feet so that the Dursley's would think he was working, haha! And the floating 'cauldron' while Vernon is talking to Harry...just brilliant. Thank you so much! I hope to read more of your stories!

    I read this entire story last night! It took me a couple of hours and I was up until 5 AM, it was so good that I just hated to leave it! You can tell that you care about the characters and the quality of your writing, they were so well written. I really enjoyed how you took Vernon and looked into his relationship with Petunia, you made them more human (though no more likable, despicable the both of them!) Snape, even not being his snarky self, was enjoyable and believable, I loved him and how he worried about Harry and delighted to spend time with him, it was so sweet. You wrote out Harry's pain and emotional turmoil so well that I actually found myself crying! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us, it was a pleasure to read! I hope you'll write more soon!

    I like that you are taking Harry's possible mental instability into question, compared to just healing his multiple injuries and assuring him that 'all will be okay.' I'm also loving that Remus was a part of this! I could see a co-parenting relationship there, if that's where you hope to take it! Thanks for sharing!

    Author's Response: Thank you! It was important to me that I not gloss over the emotional trauma Harry has also suffered, as it is something he will have to deal with, unfortunately. I'm also glad you like Remus' inclusion - I hadn't planned to use him, originally, but it had just seemed right, as I feel he would be especially adept at dealing with a frightened child. Harry's definitely going to need a lot of love and care, which he is going to receive.

Harry never expected to be adopted—especially not by Snape. Harry hates his new father, and the feeling is mutual. But to the outside world, they have to pretend otherwise, or Harry could end up in very deep trouble. Is anyone that good at acting?
