On the night of October 31st, when Voldemort showed up to kill Harry, he found that two of his Death Eaters were already there; traitors. That night left two boys orphaned and seeing no other option, Dumbledore placed both boys on the Dursley's doorstep. Draco and Harry grow up bonding as brothers for they're the only other person they've got to rely on. Come their year at Hogwarts, they're both sorted into Gryffindor. But Severus Snape watches them...will he be able to take them in when they need him; his godson and a boy that should have been his son?

- i'm rather interested to see where you go with this. why would snape agree/how is harry going to get snape to agree?

Glad to hear it but where is the fun if I tell you now? :P. Snape will have numerous reasons to agree if he does and Harry will not be giving up or taking "no" for an answer if that is to occur, so in a roundabout I am confirming that Snape will agree at some point, either by his choice or forced (or both!).

There were a couple of tense issues that you might want to clean up, but other than that the chapter was quite good.
In response to the Burnt Hedwig to the Rescue challenge by Howldaloom and the Oh, the Fanfics You'll Write! challenge by . . . well, me. In the summer following his third year, the Dursleys force Harry to live as a house-elf, finally destroying all his possessions in a huge bonfire. Hedwig, badly burnt, escapes and gets help . . . but from whom?

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I read a poem years ago in this same style, but written like a computer manual. It cracked me up so badly that I vowed one day to master that technique. :o)
What's in a name? The-boy-who-lived, prophesied defeater of the Dark Lord, son of the supremely intelligent Lily Evans and talented James Potter, Golden boy of Gryffindor, part-time punching bag and house elf of the Dursleys and the bane of Severus Snape's teaching career, Harry's used to labels. Who would want Harry when they can see instead whoever they like instead? Having never been entirely sure who he is makes him a little too open to suggestion though and unfortunately for him, Umbridge wants to banish his old list of names and create a new one of her own.

- I'm very intrigued by this story. How is he going to manage a week of detention with Snape if he's simultaneously doing a week of "Rehab" with Umbitch? (Guess I'll find out in a sec, you're way ahead of me)
