    Aw. Cute! And James is coming around, that's good. I hope that he and Sev can learn to deal with each other. I mean, they probably won't ever like each other, but it's possible for them to respect each other. My Dad and my stepdad have never said a bad word about each other. It would be cool if Snape and Potter could get to that point.

    Good chapter, but I think you might try working on showing instead of telling, and not repeating yourself. For example, you could have left the statement saying that Eric went to peer out the window. The fact that he wanted to be the first to see the Dursleys was implied. Trust yourself as a writer; you can get the message across without needing to explain what every action and gesture means. Well written actions speak for themselves.

    I expected the ending once you'd said his neck was broken (I'm working on a story about paralysis as well). Is it going to be permanent? And is his paralyzed from the neck down or from the waist down?

    Why does everyone keep fainting? I have never in my life seen someone faint from shock. It might have happened to women once or twice years ago because they were wearing corsets and their oxygen supply was limited, but it doesn't really happen any more. Certainly not as often as you depict it. It ends up sounding silly.

    It's meant to sidetrack people from the seriousness. An aside, I suppose.

    It might also have been a result of my exasperation at my school workload...and why my fever refuses to come down...
