Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah, I suppose it was kind of sad in a way, but I also think Harry and Severus are bound to have a few bumps in the road, too. But they'll work it all out. I'm not sure how Filch will take Harry's befriending him, either, lol! It might be interesting to see. I'll try to work on the next chapter sometime this weekend. We'll see how it goes. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm sorry...but I will try to hurry as quickly as I can and still have the Fest story turn out as I'm envisioning. I feel badly for both of them. Severus is truly concerned for Harry's health...understandably...but it is a hard blow for Harry, too, for a variety of reasons. And it's likely to get worse before it gets better!
Author's Response: You said it! I'll try to write ch. 47 this week, okay? Thanks so much!
Author's Response: Well, I won't call you that, and I don't know about Draco. What he did to Harry was really horrible, and some people might find it unforgivable. That's okay...not everyone has to like Draco, that's fine. I do feel some sympathy for him, but he has a long way to go. I'm not trying to make you or anyone else change their minds about Draco, really, but a thought crossed my mind that I would just like to say. I'm presuming that lots of people here like Severus Snape and feel that he deserved a chance to be redeemed and have a chance at a better life, but let's not forget that Snape was a true Death Eater for a time in his life and during that time, I believe he also did some pretty horrible things to innocent people. But he did come to see that he was wrong, to feel remorse, and to want to make up for that. Now, Draco has not gotten to that point, I admit. Right now he is still self-centered and hasn't really come to feel remorse for harming Harry. But I don't think he would have cast the slavery spell if he had known what he was doing. Notifying the newspaper was a terrible thing to do, no denying it and like I said, some would say unforgivable. I see it more as Draco, in the midst of great pain, turmoil, and anger, lashing out, having a lack of impulse control, and not thinking things through at all. Should he go to Azkaban or receive some other type of punighment? How hardened is Draco? Could he learn to feel empathy? How? Does he deserve the chance to be redeemed and become a different type of person, or should he just be punished and taken out of the story? People are going to have different answers to those questions, and I know that not everyone will like my plans for the rest of the story. But it has been planned for two years now. I had Draco's fate planned before I began writing SC, and I think it would ruin the story to make such a major change now. The only thing I will say for certain is that Severus is not going to adopt Draco, and he will not become part of the family. As for Narcissa, she certainly was not a nice person, and I find it hard to feel a lot of sympathy for her too. Overall, she was a big failure as a mother, but in the end she did try to save her son. Thanks again!
Author's Response: Thank you. I have always thought the same of Azkaban, though perhaps some people like Bellatrix deserve it.
okay, granted, i realize that you won't cull malfoy, but... one can dream, right? jk. great chapter, btw Author's Response: LOL! Were you ever an extra in a Disney musical? Thanks for reviewing.
Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah, Harry does need to get back to the real world, but he's just not ready yet.
Brilliant chapter, btw. And it was just the right length--I'm leaving here just in time for work. Author's Response: >>>I want to hear them talk at dinner. Well, you just might get to in the next chapter, lol! Thank you, and I'm glad you made it to work on time.
Author's Response: Thank you! I never really liked canon Draco much either. He had potential to change and redeem himself, but imo, he never really managed it. I did learn to like fanon Draco, at least some versions of him, and decided to see what I could do with him in a story. I'm happy if he's beginning to reach you too. When Severus took the Dark Mark, he lost more than he imagined, but with the help of a meddlesome Headmaster and a diary from a time long forgotten, Severus gets a chance at fatherhood, if he himself can survive the encounter. **Rewrite well in progress**

Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you like it so much! Well, I had only originally had the four chapters when I started uploading them here, now I've got the fifth worked out, but it still needs tweaking. I'm sorry, but I'm quite slow at writing, too. With college and the end of the semester coming up, papers to write, and this, I'll type as much as I can when the mood strikes me. Oh, next chapter is one big Severus-Harry interaction. I'm pretty sure you'll really like it, if you've liked the story so far, but you'll have to wait a bit. Sorry. But thank you for reviewing, and I'll try to type as much as I can! |
