2021 Profile Update:

I have been away from P&S for so long (at least 8 years) that a lot of my favorite authors seem to have left, and a lot my favorite stories that were works in progress have been abandoned. But, I recently felt the desire to read some HP fanfic, and I remembered that this was once one of my favorite sites so I'm back! Here's a bit about me:

I'm a former Marine in her early thirties living somewhere in the USA. I read mostly fantasy books, with some science fiction thrown in, and I'll even read the occasional historical fiction, mystery, or horror/thriller, but my favorite genre is fantasy. For the most part, if a book involves dragons, I'm willing to give it a chance, especially if the dragons aren't just dumb beasts. The same applies to books about wolves. The first three HP books are my favorites.  

My hobbies include reading (obviously!), horseback riding (when I get the chance), archery (also a rare occurence), flying (when I have the money to pay for my lessons), co-writing a fanfic of my own (when my co-author and I aren't plagued by writers' block), cross-stitching, playing games (computer, console, board games, card games, D&D, or whatever...), and sometimes watching movies. I'd like to be a pilot someday, but I'm not sure if that will ever happen. In the meantime, I have a job that I enjoy almost as much, and I'm looking to buy my first house this year.

Also, while I'm not actively beta-reading anything at the moment, if anyone is in need of a beta reader, I'm definitely interested in at least looking at your story...

    Great story! I'm really enjoying it! I really like the idea of Harry going back in time to warn himself about the future. I hope Snape eventually lets him in; and I also like that they're trying to get rid of Umbridge. She really is very evil, and needs to DIE!!! *looks sheepish* oops...sorry...got a bit carried away there...*ahem* Anyway, it's a wonderful story, and I think your characterizations are just right.     Wow! Absolutely amazing! I'll admit, I was a little aprehensive about reading a "slavery" fic, but you've done very well with it. *shudders* I can't even begin to imagine myself in that position, and I feel sorry for both of them. I can't help but wonder how they'll both manage to survive for any length of time...Anyway, it's very good, keep it up! Please update soon!!

    Author's Response: Thank you!  I know a lot of people have doubts about a 'slavery' fic, and that's why I did say from the beginning that this story was about sensitive issues, but I really am trying to handle them with respect and I'm glad if someone is willing to give it a chance.  Harry and Severus are both in a bad situation now, Harry especially, but things will eventually get better for them.  I'll try to update as soon as I can.

    Wow! Another wonderful chapter! I can't believe you ended it like that, though!! ...Or maybe I can, since the last chapter was actually a worse cliffhanger. Though I'm glad Snape's apparently realized his absolutely hugely horrendous mistake; I'd been wondering if Poppy would mention the incident or if Severus would actually give Harry a chance to explain. I'm just wondering what the rest of Snape's reaction will be, and of course Poppy won't be at all happy when she finds out...I also liked how Snape's emotions are in conflict, and he doesn't know what to think or feel--it's the first step towards him seeing Harry, instead of James Potter reborn (except for the eyes, of course). Anyway, thanks for the chapter and update soon!!

    Author's Response: Thank you!  Yeah, Severus has taken the first step towards realising he's been wrong about Harry...a very hard thing for him to admit, which is why I made this so horrible for poor Harry.  I hated to do it, but I thought Severus would have to be really shaken up to see that he'd been wrong.  Otherwise, he'd have probably just avoided Harry as much as possible and it would have taken years before they'd gotten to know one another.  I don't think I'm patient enough to drag it out for years.

    Yea!! Sev wants to get to know Harry better! I wonder if he realizes that Poppy knows...And I'll be Dumbledore's reaction will be disappointed, rather than angry...well, obviously he'll be upset, but I would expect him to be more disappointed in Severus than angry with him...but maybe that's just me. Update again soon!! *reaches for the platter of Honeydukes' sweets, now that's she's reviewed, hoping that the best chocolates haven't been taken yet...* You brought chocolate! You're even more awesome than I thought!!

    Thank you!  I'm glad you liked it!  Dumbledore will be upset and disappointed, but if he realises that it has opened Severus' eyes to the truth about Harry, I think he'll see that there's a silver lining, anyway.  He's been trying for years to make Severus to see the real Harry, and now under the circumstances, it's more important than ever. 

    And the best thing about virtual chocolates, is you never run out, so have all you want!

    Wonderful story! Your characterizations have been quite good so far, and I can't wait to see how Harry and Severus manage to work out their differences. I also imagine Snape will be livid at the Dursley's, once he actually has time to breathe and who treated Harry like that truly sinks in...I admit I'm looking forward to that--especially if he actually goes and visits the Dursley's himself! Keep it up, and please update soon!! (And as far as British English or American English...though I am American, I've read enough fics written by British authors that British spellings, and most of their sayings, don't bother me any more--in fact, most of the time now I hardly even notice! So I certainly won't be bothered either way).

    A very good start. I agree, the conversation between Severus and Harry seems a bit off. I noticed in you notes at the end of chapter 1 that you were in need of a beta...if you still need one, I would be happy to fill that position.     What a wonderful first chapter! Who did the eyes belong to? (*grins* I know, I know...I'll find out soon enough, I'm sure...I just hate waiting...). I was wondering if you have a beta? (I almost hate asking that, because I'm always afraid that people will think I think the story is crap or something, but could be made decent with a beta...or something like that...but that's not the case, though I did find a few small errors, but I really can't help it--I'm always finding mistakes in writings; I don't go looking for them, but I find them anyway...). Whenever I find a fic that I like, I always ask if the author has a beta, if they haven't mentioned that they do have one, because I'd like to be a beta and have a chance to help (even if it's just a little bit) with the story. So...if you don't have a beta, would you like one?? *cue puppy dog eyes* ...*coughs* Sorry...I realize this review probably rambled quite a bit...but it's a very good fic so far, keep it up and update soon!!

    What a wonderful, wonderful story!! You should definitely write sequel! The conflict between Sev and Tobias was perfect, as was the resolution. Your characterizations were excellent. I could exactly imagine things as they were happening, and I cried, laughed, and groaned along with them. It's been an absolutely wonderful adventure! Please write a sequel!!!
