"Read Read me a story, pleeaze Dad" drawn for my Never Again story, by artist SnapesYukuai. Picture refers to the incident where Harry brings his stuffed panther Inky to life through accidental magic. This took place just before that.

Harry, having learned of his uncle's plans to step up the abuse against him, decides to run away. At the same time, Severus Snape, having been dispatched to ensure he is safe, discovers that Harry is abused and decides to kidnap him.

- OMG that wa sso sad and it makes me want to shred Albus into pieces either that or deaged him and let him endure what harry had to for ten years. Making an innocent child into some kind of martyr for a prophecy's sake, whether to save the wordl or whatever is just plain wrong. They need to report what Albus did and send him to Azkaban. Because he is as bad as Voldemort, even if the life he ruined is a single one as opposed to the many that Voldemort ruined. What a decietful spider in the grass (I won't say snakes cause I like them, but really hate spiders).
Can't wait to see what they do next. I'm assuming Harry's memory is of the same thing as Arabella's and also maybe the one right after Lily died.

- Aww that last part was so sweet! And I like how Severus reasoned out that Dumbledore framed Black and I hope he goes to Lucius and asks him to find the Potters' will. I'm sure it must be there somewhere.
Oh and I've updated Manger, for some reason it's not showing up on the recent list.

A part of me has always theorized that Dumbledore had something to do with Sirius being locked up like that or at least made sure that he was forgotten...
As to Lucius, well...of course. He IS a logical choice after all and very influential.

- I loved it1 I really liked how Fawkes was always Sal's phoenix and the true story behind the Slytherin founder. It makes a lot of sense that he would wish to implement such a hting, because back then most students would have not even known how to read or write, unless they were given training from a monk or priests or were a noble with a private tutor.
It's sad how people re-write history, but that's true even in real life.
I'm glad Fawkes is keeping an eye on Dumbledore and hope that he will trust Severus with more information soon.
Author's Response: I'm really glad you loved it. What Salazar asked for was more than reasonable and made perfect sense. There is nothing saying that the students had to be children either. They could have added another year of training on or something along those lines. Thanks for the lovely review.

- Aww that was so sweet! I love how Severus made breakfast for Harry and how he's so quick to appreciate what he's given.
I also liked Fawkes working to help keep Dumbledore in the dark! May it stay that way!
Can't wait to see how they get harry away from there safely.

Harry is a sweet kid, which is part of the reason I never understood the Dursleys.
Fawkes is going to be intrigle to keeping Dumbledore at bay until they can get Harry away from Privat Drive. He will have a strong role in the entire story really. As to how they get Harry out of there, well I guess you'll see.

- That was a beautiful chapter! Sorry I haven't reviewed in so long but I've been busy and then everytime I got an alert, I couldn't find the update on the list. I really like how Petunia covered for herself and was wondering what is a full English breakfast? Something with kidneys? I really like how Salazar and fawkes interact here. I'm wondering who Fawkes will bond with, Harry or Severus?
Author's Response: I'm really glad you liked it. What is a full English breakfast? Well it depends on who you ask, but generally it includes; bacon, scrambled eggs, black pudding (which is a type of sausage), hashbrowns, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Basically, it's a fry-up and is really good and hearty. As to which of our boys Fawkes will choose, you will have to find out later. Thanks for reviewing. You know how much I appreciate them.

- Aww that was so sweet! Harry certainly will do well with the kitten! I had a cat like that once her name was Majik and she was the sweetest thing.
Loved the house hunting elf too! Sounds like she found the perfect place!
Author's Response: Yes, it was, wasn't it? Harry has had few happy moments in his life and I couldn't resist giving him one. Dassy did find the perfect place, but there is a story behind it, which you will begin to see in the next chapter.

- I would guess that Salazar had given Dassy the list with the name upon it. And it seems the perfect place though Severus is right to be cautious.
I would say that based upon Fawkes nervousness, his bondmate is probably Severus. I hope that Severus accepts him.

Why would Salazar know anything about the situation with Severus and Harry? Fawkes didn't say anything about it to him. Though, I suppose he could be in a way....
Yes, the odds are stacked in Severus' favor right now when it comes to who is Fawkes' choice. Oddly enough, I still have completely decided who he will choose. I'm still torn between two individuals, one of which might surprise you...maybe.

- This is a very good start! I like how all the staff is involved in getting Harry better treatment and I think Severus will do well as Harry's mentor. His talking with Lily's portrait at the end was sweet.
I did notice a spelling error
"dotting grandfather already" ought to be doting, although Albus can be dotty sometimes . .. sorry a little joke.
Oh and if you have Severus thinking, it might be easier to put his thoughts in italics, makes it easier for a reader to distinguish them and make them stand out. You can do this for any character thinking actually, or even when a character is speaking in another language, like Parseltongue or mind to mind. I do it all the time in my fics.
Just a few tips, hope you aren't offended.

- Really liked how Sev dealt with Petunia. He should do something similar to Vernon and Dudley.
One question, why would Dumbles want to thrash Severus? He saved Harry from being poor and destitute and is willing to be a father to the boy. He should be thanking Severus. Really, the old man needs to get a grip on reality here. Severus is his employee and an adult, not some little kid.

- I liked how Harry and Severus are getting along and how Sev reassured Lupin that it wasn't his fault. I hope that they will continue to be friends. Harry needs to talk to Lupin to find out more about dealing with the werewolf curse. It would be funny if Severus did have to smack Ron, he'd probably threaten to tell his mum and then she'd smack him too! Although I do wonder where Sev got that authority from? Because I thought it wasn't school policy to discipline kids that way unless they were your own.
