| Happily married for 20 years, this coming October. Two lovely daughters, four lovely grandkids. I always knew Snape was the most interesting character in the series! I love good writing, especially with good spelling and good grammar. [Report This]

Great chapter! I'm really enjoying how you weave the canon story details into your version--very imaginative!
Author's Response: Thanks. It's not easy to do that and still have my own plot line either, it's tricky and I have to think about it a lot. So I'm glad you're enjoying it!

What a great chapter!! I'm so grateful you've been able to write so assiduously, giving us chapter after chapter so quickly! A magic trunkful of Galleons in thanks, for all your trouble!
Author's Response: Woohoo, I'm rich! And I'm glad I've actually had time to write so much, since it's getting to be very busy at work and at home. Thanks for your awesome review, please keep reading!

I can't believe how you've outdone yourself again--but it's wonderful! Your vault at Gringott's has another chest of golden Galleons in thanks for this chapter! Thank you so much for writing so much, so often, and so well!
Author's Response: You're quite welcome! Thanks for the Galleons, maybe I can finally buy a new car, LOL!
You might wish to amend the last sentence of the first paragraph here. Mushrooms are fungi, and nightshade is a family of green plants. (Besides deadly nightshade, it also includes "good" plants" tomatoes, and eggplant.)
Maybe you could..."a harmless mushroom and its deadly cousin, amanita.
Amanitas are the reason why there are no old, bold mushroom hunters. Several members of this group contain amanitin, one of the deadliest poisons found in nature. One cap of a Destroying Angel (Amanita virosa) can kill a man. (This last paragraph is from http://mdc.mo.gov/nathis/mushrooms/mushroom/poisonous.htm)
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm not a real botanist by any means, I only know common vegetables and herbs for cooking and appreciate your advice.
I confess, I'm ambivalent about any stories on P&S that don't stick mostly to Hogwarts, and the canon HP characters. But you're doing some very entertaining and well-done storytelling here, so I'm not complaining, just commenting!
Very enjoyable!
Author's Response: Thank you! I occasionally like taking the characters out of school and having them do other things and interact with other people and animals, I think it adds more depth to the story that way and you can see different sides to them when they are outside in the real world versus school.

So after all that, did Rellah get to make their hassenpfeffer, or however she was going to cook the hare? I don't recall either Harry or Sev actually handing it to her, with all the excitement of the wyvern fight & Severus' and Boreal's injuries.
Author's Response: Uh . . .it kind of got forgotten in the meadow, but Severus will get her another one so she can cook it.
"Breath" rhymes with death. I don't think that was the word you wanted. It looks like you wanted Dumbledore to tell Harry to BREATHE. That 'e' on the end makes all the difference--literally.
The man leans over the table and presses the cup of tea into Harry’s hand. “Here, have some more. Perhaps it’ll make you feel better.”
Harry doubts it but accepts the cup nonetheless and takes a few mouthfuls. Moments after he’s swallowed the bitter brew he begins to feel cold and his vision blurs.
//
Sometimes safety takes on a strange meaning, but Harry always knew cupboards were safe. He just never knew that he would one day associate Snape along with cupboards and the safety and sense of security they always brought him.

32 lines up from the bottom (which begins "Severus frowns. He places his elbows on the table..."), you should have continued "...and STEEPLES his fingers...". In other words, he brings his index fingers to a point against each other, like the steeple atop a church.
What you did put, "...and staples his fingers..."means he had an accident with office supplies. I don't believe that's what you meant!
Good story, though! I really like it.
Author's Response: No, that's not what I meant, either. I shall have to take a dive into my dictionary ;) Thank you. ^^
As hidden secrets are revealed, Harry is forced to deal with a most unexpected, and unwanted, development. Sevitus. OOC maybe??? Maybe not???

Hurry, hurry, hurry! Get us more story! PLEASE?!?!!!!! Thank you!!!!!
Author's Response: lol, thanks! Most likely this weekend.
You have Dumbledore handing Harry's wand over to Severus TWICE within three sentences, which is confusing. Between 17 and 19 paragraphs down is where the two handings-over take place.
Author's Response: hmmm... you're right. I was trying to express what Harry was feeling when he saw the wand handed to Snape, but it's not quite clear enough. I'll have to go back and tidy that up. Thanks for pointing it out.
