A Christmas-y fic that was inspired by the challenge made by Foolish Wishmaker. Harry is left alone at Hogwarts for Christmas, during his seventh year. Bored and lonely, he tries to find something to occupy his time and ends up (as usual) in trouble. Can Snape help him out?

- What a wonderful little story! I liked the interaction between Snape and Snake-Harry. I appreciated where Sev Accio'd the mouse for him, and afterwards where Harry slithered beneath Sev's hand, to be told, "Yes, yes, you are the awesome killing machine, etc,etc."

- Oops! I didn't mean to misquote. Obviously, I'd meant to say, “Yes, yes, you are the EXPERT killing machine etcetera, etcetera and I am amazed by your singular skill."
I also really liked the line "In ways, the man before him was the king snake of them all and it would not do to anger him."

Harry has a vision of what his perfect Christmas would be. A home...a family, and being surrounded by people he cares about . Can his newfound father grant that wish?

- Ha! Just as "big nosed horrible oily man" represented "Snape" in Parseltongue, I wonder what "total fucking idiot" is?! Great chapter. I don't know if Mozart was a wizard, but he certainly was a creative genius. We'll have to find out if Rhiannon is!

- Very evocative! Nicely done.
In a work this miniature, though, minor things stand out larger than they would in a larger work. Two things you might look at: Second line down, in the second sentence, I think you want to add an "l" to "Shacklebot".
In the very last line, you might consider putting a period after the "You" (to keep the emphasis you want here), or else put "idiot" in lower case, but italicize it.
I'm assuming you want "idiot" capitalized for emphasis, but it's still visually jarring, since it's not a proper noun. A period, or even an exclamation mark would give you the verbal rhythm you want, plus it would fit.
Nothing 'writ in stone', just something you might consider. Nice work!

Desperate to escape his guilt and nightmares after the third task, Harry transforms into a hawk by accident and ends up breaking both wings and suffering partial memory loss. He is found by Snape, and while the professor nurses him back to health discovers the truth about Severus and who are really his friends and enemies at Hogwarts.

The "humorous" you have there means "funny". Here you're discussing the bone, which is spelled HUMERUS.

- God, I love a good well-written angsty chapter like this. First I was crying because of the usual Severus and Harry kind of angst. Then I read your end-of-chapter notes and really had to weep! Beagles are my favorite breed of dog, so it was extrememly easy for me to imagine myself in your place for that reason. Next--and probably the in-depth reason for my weeping--is we had to put our kitty Millie to sleep, four weeks ago. Her kidney disease took her before her time. So all of this locked into my pre-existing grief and just let it loose! (For which I thank you.)
THAT having been expressed, let me address your issue of proper punishment for Draco, et al. Perhaps an entire month of detentions, not being able to use magic, so they really 'get' what a privilege it is to be able to use it PROPERLY. And the kicker? Snape should require each one of them to write an essay, detailing just WHY it was WRONG for them to do so. (In Draco's case, his underlying assumption he 'deserves' whatever he wants...well, Draco, tell us why that really isn't the case!) Crabbe & Goyle can explain why they mindlessly follow Draco, & why that might not be such a good idea after all. A side benefit might be them realizing that to follow LV might not be such a good idea, either?
Anyway, all just suggestions. It IS your story, m'dear--and quite a good one, besides. Thanks for having updated so soon, and so well!

Oh no! You poor thing, what is going on with people and their cats dying? CrazyDragon had two cats put down also and so did my sister, she lost her little kitten two weeks ago. I know how it feels to lose a pet, my cat died in my arms four years ago from an aneuyrism and no one could do anything. I haven't gotten a cat since, even though I love them. As for my Rocky, he's such a sweet thing and I wa sso very glad he managed to get well. But beagles are tough dogs and I adore them.
yes, i agree with you about all of the punishments and those three really need an attitude adjustment and to learn to think for themselves.

- I like the communication between Severus and Harry-as-hawk. Will the "hawkness" of Harry in his animagus state truly bond him to Severus? I do hope that whenever you finally have Harry appear in his normal form, he & Severus keep to the bonding. Lovely chapter--and very glad to see the Slytherin trio get their just desserts!

Yes, it will. At this point, Harry is more hawk than human, which happened because of his amnesia, and Severus helping him only increases that bond. As to what will occur when Harry gets his real form back, which won't happen for quite some time yet, his memory will return first, you'll have to wait and see.
I'm glad that trio will pay for what they did, especially young Mr. malfoy.
