Before Harry arrives at Hogwarts, the faculty have a meeting and decide that Harry will need a mentor to help him adjust, keep him out of trouble, and make protecting him easier. They decide that this person should the Head of the House into which Harry is sorted, presumably Minerva McGonagall. But things, of course, don't turn out as planned, and Harry is harder to deal with than anyone expected. Nobody asked him if he wanted a mentor, after all...
NOTE: This story has a prologue. It is not necessary to the plot of the story, but if you wish to read it, it is called(predictably enough) 'Prologue to Life as Dictated by a Talking Hat'

- Does the infirmary have a private room for a patient that needs to be quarantined? The castle could probably make one if needed. Of course that depends on whether or not Harry tells anyone about the room being too big.

Author's Response: LOL yeah. I wonder what Harry'll have to say. Woot!! Go Anita Blake!! Yeah I haven't finished the series - I just ran out of the ones I bought. I'm on Incubus Dreams, but am putting off reading it because last time the series ate my life for like a week and a half. lol. And I agree, Edward is AWESOME. However, I really love books where my favorite character is the main, which is the case in this series - go Anita!!! She's so awesome. I like how she's totally capable of keeping up with the men, but not because she has equal physical strength to them (that would be unrealistic) but through force of will, magic, and firearms. She's just awesome. :-)

Desperate to escape his guilt and nightmares after the third task, Harry transforms into a hawk by accident and ends up breaking both wings and suffering partial memory loss. He is found by Snape, and while the professor nurses him back to health discovers the truth about Severus and who are really his friends and enemies at Hogwarts.

Author's Response: They do not like her at all, and Snape could, but the elves are bound not to hurt the professors or the Headmistress, unfortunately. It never said so in the books, but I would asume they are bound to the school and faculty like other elves are bound to a family. Except Dobby, who is free.
