About me:

On May 28th of 2002, after a lot of deliberation and thought, I became Ponytail Goddess on fanfiction.net.  Looking back, I can't help but wonder why I chose such a silly name.  Clearly, I never thought I'd grow out of my ponytail phase during my freshmen year of high school.  Oh, how things have changed...

Anyway, I guess I could tell you a few less than interesting facts about myself, such as the fact that I am a music education major or that I live in Illinois, which is known for it's unpredictable weather.  However, that's not too terribly interesting, so I will bore you no longer.

I am here to write a few good fics and my main focus as an author is creativity.  I strive to write intricate fics with highly detailed plots that have not been seen before.  I like tricking people into believing one thing when they should believe another.  I also believe that a story can be satisfying with a less than happy ending.  Not everything in life ends happily, so why should all fics end happily?  Variety is the spice of life, so I'm going to flavor my fics in different ways to please you.

    That's sad. I hope Harry can handle Severus. I don't think he'll purposely make trouble for Harry, but if they get to talking, Harry will learn the horrors of his past. I suppose they'll find understanding with each other and perhaps Harry will realize that what was done to him shouldn't be kept a secret, as it's wrong. I just think it will be hard for Harry to hear about such things and to endure being around a child like Severus. I guess I'll go see what happens...

    Wonderful writing; very sad, but wonderful.

    Harry and Severus will have an unique relationship by the end if I have anything to say about it. It will be hard since both know the horrors of child abuse, but they'll get to know each other. But yeah, I don't want to give things away.

    Vivacious? Uh-oh...

    Poor Severus; how scary it must have been to awaken in a new place with a dead wizard. That alone is enough to mess someone up who didn't have Severus' past. I hope things get better for him. I'm sure it'll be a long process though.

    I really liked the knowledge Harry imparted about forgiveness to Snape; he needed to hear it. Now, whether he accepts it or not is a whole different story.

    Anyways, I'm not sure that I agree with Harry's spot being larger than Snapes' though. I mean, we don't really know about all of the terrible things Snape has done. I think they'd probably be about equal, blob-wise, when it comes right down to it.

    However, I don't think either really intended for themselves to be immersed in such evil. And really, how can Harry consider himself so evil when most of the deaths around him were caused by Voldemort, not by him. He was a factor in them, yes, but Voldemort was the one who did the dirty deed, when it comes right down to it.

    I guess what I'm trying to get at is that I don't think either character could accurately gauge their guilt because they feel guilty for things that are out of their control.

    Writing-wise, this could really use a beta. If you want one, all you have to do is request one in the Shoutbox. There's usually someone who is willing to do that sort of thing and it would save you from having places with incomplete sentences, like this:

    rolls eyes “Not really. You'd still notice the mark, and they wouldn't be fresh, would they?”

    Instead of just 'rolls eyes,' it would sound better as "Harry rolled his eyes" or "I rolled my eyes" if you were doing from a first person p.o.v.

    I did enjoy this fic though and the big idea of how to achieve forgiveness that it centered around. This was my favorite quote:

    “No one deserves forgiveness Snape. It's not something you can earn. If these really were our lives neither of us has a clean white piece of paper. And neither of us can get them as clean as they were before.”

    Hi, Sorry - realise you wrote this AGES ago - I had replied but my computer deleted the text. grrr. Anyway, thanks for your review. Just one thing - clearly my writing's confuzzeling - Snape draws a black blob all over his paper - totally screws it up, because HE thinks HE deserves a huge mess. Harry just draws a normal blob. I don't think people do guage guilt accurately. In my experience they either don't feel guilty - because they're too arrogant/self-righteous or they feel too much guilt.  I think it takes a HUGE amount of practice and self-control and a faith that someone thinks you are worth something in their eyes no matter what to acurately think about and deal with your guilt. I think Harry could consider himself to have done wrong, (not evil though) because he tends to blame himself. Snape did too, or he wouldn't have spent his entire life trying to rid himself of the burden of Lily's death.

    Phew! That was long!

If Snape hadn’t transferred his grudges onto a student, and Harry hadn’t hated his professor as a result, they wouldn’t have been friends or allies, but perhaps there would have been a grudging respect between them.

    I really like the idea of a respectful relationship between the two of them. I love that Harry knew the truth about Snape's loyalties way before he saw the memories and was only swayed a little by Dumbledore's death. He didn't ask Snape to explain his actions, but instead he thought rationally about Snape's actions and realized by himself who Snape was working for.

    Very nice story.

    Author's Response: Thanks.  I definitely wanted Harry to have respect for the risk Snape took by spying in this story, because I figured if Snape hadn't been such a jerk in canon, Harry would've realized how important and risky his job was.  Those were the hardest sections for me to write, so I'm glad it came out okay.  Thanks for reading and reviewing.  ;)

    Oh Wands, this is going to be wonderful! I'm so excited that you're posting another piece on P&S! I adored your Christmas fic and I am certain that I'm going to love this fic as well.

    I'm so curious about what's wrong with Harry's voice! Is it psychological, like social anxiety or selective mutism? Is it a physical problem? A magical one? He could talk before, so I really can't wait to figure out what's caused the problem (perhaps the end of the library incident is still in the back of Harry's mind, just waiting to be opened up with legilimency).

    I also can't help but wonder if Severus is his father because of the similarities in looks. Then again, he also seems to look a little like Ambervale, who seems to be some sort of mage. I wonder if Harry is one too?

    By the way, your characterization of Ambervale was fabulous. I'm already very interested in him, as he seems to be older than Albus, yet looks and acts much younger (in the way he speaks and sits on Snape's potion's table, which is something I can't picture Albus doing).

    I greatly look forward to more of this fic. Please update soon!

    Glad you like it! I have some big plans for this story! I'm especially glad you like Ambervale. He was a rarity for me. Him and the cameo for the other OC. Both of them just popped into my head fully formed, without any real work being having to be done to flesh him either of them out. The second OC will be revealed in chapter two, which I am working on, though it may take awhile, and Ambervale will be talked about more there too. Thanks for the support!

    Oh my, is Severus somehow caught with her wiles? Perhaps she's the queen because she's such a seductress and can hide her true form... I love how Harry and Draco are jealous though and Draco's clumsiness is truly hilarious. However, my favorite line was: “Just think, instead of Weasley red, you could be greasy git black,” Harry teased. “You have to admit, Ronald Snape does have a bit of a ring to it.” Now wouldn't that be one hilarious fic--Ronnikins finding out that he's really Snape's child. Lmao!

    Thanks.  I was really trying to make this a one shot, but Hag-biology got in the way.  You'll have to see what happens with the Queen.

    I think Ron would be a suicide risk if he found out Snape was his dad.  Or maybe a homicide risk.  You can never tell with those Weasleys.  I'm glad you enjoyed that bit.
