About me:

Hi, I'm Jan. :D I love Snape and Harry fics, and just mentor fics in general. I first started Potions and Snitches (P&S) as a safe place to find Snape & Harry gen fics without stumbling into Snape and Harry slash (aka Snarry, or HP/SS).

Fandoms that I like to read fanfiction of include: Star Trek, Star Wars, Kung Fu : The Legend Continues, Dragonball Z, Stargate SG1, Batman, Angel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I like Gen and Mentor fics mostly. I love hurt/comfort, angst, whump, drama, raw emotions, and vivid descriptions best.

I know how to make and edit graphics, icons, and layouts (html and css). I am a master web searcher. XD

My dreams? One day I'd like to be able to run up a mountain effortlessly, or at least easily. :) I'd like to see Potions and Snitches host every single good Snape and Harry Gen fic there ever existed. I'd like to have people who post here get 100 reviews a chapter. I'd like active-to-the-bursting challenges and contests. I want the site to be a great, fun place that readers of Snape and Harry fics loved and knew as active.

I saw this picture on Tumblr and I began to think what if right before Voldemort showed up that night on Halloween, Lily wrote a letter to Severus that she was going to send the next day. What if when Severus showed up after Lily was killed, he read the letter. What would happen?

    Awww. Poor Harry! Poor Severus! Does Snape know that Harry has part of the Dark Lord in him? Is that why he's scared of Harry now? Or is it something else?

    Ahhhh!!!! This is AWESOME! Fantastic characterization of everyone, and I loved the thoughts and descriptions. I only wish I could of had some of that dinner!!!

    Author's Response: Thank you, thank you! I've never answered a challenge before, so I have my fingers crossed that the rest of the story continues to entertain you! I really wanted to give Dudley a bit more depth than many stories do. Also, I had to deal with the dilemma of introducing a character who doesn't get the chance to speak, until the very end! And then there's Marge... I have to confess I had Pam Ferris' performance in mind when I wrote Marge, then just pushed the envelope! Thanks for reviewing!!! 😊

    Woahhhh! So intense! Fantastic development and events!!!

    Author's Response: Oh, yes! I really enjoyed writing all aspects of this chapter, from the interaction between Snape and Harry, to Ripper and Marge, to the neighbors watching Number 4! We've had two dogs (gone to the great big doghouse in the sky these many years) who would do "the brown tornado", one silently spinning around the yard, and the other growling fiercely in utter joy! I just had to incorporate Roy and Hamlet into Ripper's performance

    Love it! Great thoughts, and the business about the wards and Snape checking them makes a lot of sense!

    Author's Response: Yes, Dumbledore is concerned, and he doesn't want to alert the Dursleys that they are under observation, so Snape has to utilize his skills as a spy under rather trying circumstances. He certainly gets an eyeful...

    Muah haha! The Dursley's don't know a thing! All the talk of sandwiches and food is really making me want to eat some! Fantastic descriptions! Harry really is a model servant, isn't he? He could probably find a job as a butler or maid or cook, no problem! I love the story!

    Author's Response: Oh gee! Well, at least his future wife won't have to worry about the two of them starving if she doesn't know how to boil water without burning it! But I thought it would be fun to do more with food, since Harry probably knows more about its preparation than does the man spying on him. 😉 Thanks for the review!
