About me:

Hi, I'm Jan. :D I love Snape and Harry fics, and just mentor fics in general. I first started Potions and Snitches (P&S) as a safe place to find Snape & Harry gen fics without stumbling into Snape and Harry slash (aka Snarry, or HP/SS).

Fandoms that I like to read fanfiction of include: Star Trek, Star Wars, Kung Fu : The Legend Continues, Dragonball Z, Stargate SG1, Batman, Angel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I like Gen and Mentor fics mostly. I love hurt/comfort, angst, whump, drama, raw emotions, and vivid descriptions best.

I know how to make and edit graphics, icons, and layouts (html and css). I am a master web searcher. XD

My dreams? One day I'd like to be able to run up a mountain effortlessly, or at least easily. :) I'd like to see Potions and Snitches host every single good Snape and Harry Gen fic there ever existed. I'd like to have people who post here get 100 reviews a chapter. I'd like active-to-the-bursting challenges and contests. I want the site to be a great, fun place that readers of Snape and Harry fics loved and knew as active.

    Woah!! Oh my gosh! Major drama! I am so, so glad that Snape was able to rescue Harry before Harry got raped, but it was a near thing! And Snape's recovery has got to be put back because of this. Good thing he knows a nurse. :)

    Man, I hope it's the Order coming to help Snape and Harry, maybe even Dumbledore himself. Maybe then he will realize what a mistake it was leaving Harry with that family again. Wow. I hope Snape will be okay, Harry too. I have a feeling that Vernon Dursley's dead. I can't say I feel bad about it, but it may make things difficult for Snape. Then again, it was done in self defense, without magic, by a wizard who should still be hospitalized. Maybe Dumbledore should stand trial for creating the situation. Where was the watch on Harry that should have been happening?

    Woah! What a cliffhanger! Great chapter! I am greatly enjoying Kieran as a foil to Harry. I see more issues and problems between the two in the future. I am loving your Snape. Great thoughts in this chapter from both Snape and Harry. It makes sense that Harry would get so upset about his mum. Great story and thanks so much for the update!

    Oh my gosh!! Ahhh!! I did not see that coming! I wonder where Harry went, did a Deatheater get him? Did Draco make him out earlier?! Oh man, I really hope that Harry is safe and still in disguise! I really hope that he can get out of there safely!

    I found it really amusing that Kieran is all the qualities Severus thought Harry was before he got to know Harry for real. The Quidditch book was just the icing on the cake.

    I'm glad that Severus told Clarice off - he didn't like her any way, but they way she seemed to hate Harry with no provocation... I wonder why that is. Is it because Harry is Lily's child and Clarice is jealous of Lily's standing in Snape's heart? Or is she a Death Eater or something?

    Funny that both of Kieran's parents are potions masters. He should be a natural at it then, right?

    I have a feeling that this next year at Hogwarts is going to be an eventful and dramatic one. I kind of hope that Kieran doesn't get into Slytherin. Obviously he won't be getting into Ravenclaw.

    Oh I really hope that Harry is okay so that he makes it to Hogwarts afterall! Thank you so much for the update, fantastic chapter! Please update when you can!

    Woah! I am so worried about that unknown spell that went to Harry. Maybe they can use a pensive to hear the Latin Voldemort used to figure out what it was. I love how protective Snape is towards Harry now. I bet Kieran and his mother are going to have a huge case of jealousy over Snape's care for Harry.

    I love how the Twins protected their shop and Harry came to the rescue. I wonder what Voldemort was doing there, if it was just a coincidence or if Voldemort was looking for Harry or Severus.

    I was a little worried about the action scenes not being good enough, but I'm happy with how they turned out. It wouldn't be Harry if he didn't always come to the rescue.

    We'll have to wait and see what happens next with that spell! Plus Kieran and his mother are going to be back next chapter. Severus is going to have his hands full. Lol.

Snape will be discovered, the Order will save him, Harry has nightmares; you know, just the usual stuff.
In the last chapter Harry duels with Voldemort and shows us how powerful he really is.

    Interesting chapter. There were a couple of things that seemed off with their first day. It seemed like they are taking an unusual amount of classes for their first day of classes. In Harry Potter, usually there are 1-4 class periods a day for students to have enough time to study, do homework, and have time off. In this chapter it seems that they are taking 6 class periods in one day. Usually they get their timetables at breakfast the second day, not before. Of course, maybe Hermione got it early because she's a prefect, but it doesn't feel right.

    Umbridge was much more annoying in the book, she didn't seem to want to allow Dumbledore any authority that first night. Her part missing from this chapter seems to suggest that her character is different.

    Cloak is spelled cloak. :) I noticed it was spelled wrong as cloack a few times.

    Your Harry is compelling, I like that he seems more capable than the canon book Harry.

    I wish that the writing had more descriptions. The scene feels empty and blank. It makes it hard to get sucked into the story and see what the environment is like.

    Author's Response: At http://harrypotter.wikia.com/wiki/Fifth_year they wrote that fifth years had 6 class periods, that's why I wrote it. Umbridge's character isn't really different, I just don't want to mention her :D I'll correct it I promise :) Oh, yes, I have been looking for spelling mistakes for hours and I thought I didn't have any more... I always mess cloak up. :) I'll write more decriptions then. I've noticed how chapters in other fanfics were much longer, but I didn't know how to make mines longer. I'll correct that, too. :)
