About me:

Hi, I'm Jan. :D I love Snape and Harry fics, and just mentor fics in general. I first started Potions and Snitches (P&S) as a safe place to find Snape & Harry gen fics without stumbling into Snape and Harry slash (aka Snarry, or HP/SS).

Fandoms that I like to read fanfiction of include: Star Trek, Star Wars, Kung Fu : The Legend Continues, Dragonball Z, Stargate SG1, Batman, Angel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I like Gen and Mentor fics mostly. I love hurt/comfort, angst, whump, drama, raw emotions, and vivid descriptions best.

I know how to make and edit graphics, icons, and layouts (html and css). I am a master web searcher. XD

My dreams? One day I'd like to be able to run up a mountain effortlessly, or at least easily. :) I'd like to see Potions and Snitches host every single good Snape and Harry Gen fic there ever existed. I'd like to have people who post here get 100 reviews a chapter. I'd like active-to-the-bursting challenges and contests. I want the site to be a great, fun place that readers of Snape and Harry fics loved and knew as active.

Dumbledore has requested Snape retrieve something valuable for the Order and stop Voldemort from getting his hands on it. Unfortunately Snape is also required to take Harry as they need a Parselmouth. Along the way, both learn more about each other and Snape's ideas and assumptions are proven incorrect.

    Yay! Severus came and saved him! Almost too late. I sincerely hope that all of Harry’s injuries can be healed completely. It would be sad if he ends up with lasting damage because of everything. I really hope that Snape takes it up to get Harry back to 100% health, assuming that Harry survives his current concussion.

    Great chapter! I was so happy to see an update!!! The only thing that was glaringly dostracting was some grammar problems. ‘To much’ should be ‘too much.” “There taunts echoed down” should be “their.” Some other minor things. I’m really looking forward to the next chapter!!

    Oh no! Poor Harry! What a terrible situation he found himself in, especially still hurt and malnourished from the last escapade he was through. Poor kid. I wish he could call for Dobby or something.

    And Snape... I hope he gets his mind in the right place to realize Harry is not in the castle. At the very least, Poppy should notice! She'd want to check up on Harry at least twice a day. Dumbledore would want to debrief Harry too. I really hope Snape realizes what happened and goes to rescue Harry soon. I don't know how much more his body can take. Or his mental health.

    With Snape being caught out at the ministry - wow, super unexpected, and worrying. Crazy that Lucius came to rescue him, and brought him to the Dark Lord. I'm so glad it all worked out. That was scary!

    I'm really enjoying this story, I love the updates! Thanks so much for writing and sharing! I'm so stressed out now for Harry's sake, I hope he gets rescued soon! Or runs away.

[COMPLETE] After Harry blows up Aunt Marge and catches the Knight Bus to Diagonalley, he decides to take charge of his life when he learns he’s being sent back to Four Privet Drive. Harry spends the summer turning life in Diagonalley on its head, trying not to worry about the murderer Sirius Black, and attempting to avoid Severus Snape. In the midst of this he finds himself embroiled in an intense legal battle against Albus Dumbledore to decide his future. For the first time his fate rests solely in his own hands, and depend on the decisions he finds himself being forced to make. Harry wishes he could just be a thirteen year old boy, and begins to wonder if he’ll ever have the childhood he desires the most.     I love it! Harry side of the story is compelling. But Dumbledore has the argument of life and death from Voldemort’s followers if Harry were to ever leave the Dursley’s. I almost don’t want to read the next chapter to hear it. I really hope Harry will win, I can see him rebelling if he is sent back. Maybe threaten to run away to Australia. Great writing! The part with Draco at the end was great. Thanks for the update!

    Wow. It wasn’t as bad as I feared but it does look bleak. I hope that Harry’s points will be acknowledged in court and addressed sufficiently before he is returned to the Dursley’s, if he is returned. He needs an adult Wizard there with him. Could he just live in Wizard space in the house without them knowing? Fantastic story. I love how original it is. Thanks for writing a wonderful story, and thanks for the update!

    Woah! Awesome chapter! I really feel for Harry, and for Snape's frustration and inexperience in how to help Harry. I love that having Harry go back to his routine and working helps him so immensely. Well done, Snape! I love that Dumbledore and Snape are willing to do this for him, actually help him. depression is not fun, and very difficult for anyone, but especially teenagers without enough coping mechanisms.

    I love, love, love how Snape threw back Harry's words about what a guardian must do for their ward from Harry's paper. LOL! And it really shows that Snape listened, and has a sense of ironic humor. There really is so much to explore in this relationship.

    I am really loving this story. Thank you so much for all the updates! I hope to be able to read more!

    Awwww, poor Harry. I hope Snape is starting to soften towards him. I bet Dumbledore's plan is to deage Harry every holiday and have him act as Snape's son. Of course, neither of them are aware of that. Tehe!

    I LOVE Aunt Agatha. And I love how she can make Snape all uncomfortable and tense, wanting her approval but also having to face his failures. Wow. So much subtext. I loved what Harry was able to understand. And now I really want to know what the cottage is like. I wonder if she would of had Snape stay there if Harry hadn't come along.

    I love the exploration of feelings in this chapter, love it. You describe and hint at them very well. Fantastic writing. What a glorious little nugget of story so far. This is quickly becoming my current favorite. Thank you! And, Write on!
