About me:

Hi, I'm Jan. :D I love Snape and Harry fics, and just mentor fics in general. I first started Potions and Snitches (P&S) as a safe place to find Snape & Harry gen fics without stumbling into Snape and Harry slash (aka Snarry, or HP/SS).

Fandoms that I like to read fanfiction of include: Star Trek, Star Wars, Kung Fu : The Legend Continues, Dragonball Z, Stargate SG1, Batman, Angel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I like Gen and Mentor fics mostly. I love hurt/comfort, angst, whump, drama, raw emotions, and vivid descriptions best.

I know how to make and edit graphics, icons, and layouts (html and css). I am a master web searcher. XD

My dreams? One day I'd like to be able to run up a mountain effortlessly, or at least easily. :) I'd like to see Potions and Snitches host every single good Snape and Harry Gen fic there ever existed. I'd like to have people who post here get 100 reviews a chapter. I'd like active-to-the-bursting challenges and contests. I want the site to be a great, fun place that readers of Snape and Harry fics loved and knew as active.

Ginny's is not the only valentine Harry gets. After eating the chocolate gifted to him by an anonymous admirer, Harry realizes he is very much in love with none other than the handsome Gildery Lockhart. But will Gilderoy love him back? Why is Hermione suddenly in love with Snape? And who is the mysterious blonde beauty Snape has been seen with? (Warning: Mention of rape.     Woah! Lockheart is dead? I didn't see that coming at all. I love that Snape was leading his Slytherins to the great hall, like he was herding them or something. But what will Harry do? He can't go back to the Dursleys.... maybe they could need him to track down the snake or something? Since he's the only one who can hear it...

    Author's Response: All the Heads of House had to accompany their students to the Great Hall, because the basilisk is still at large, and safety precautions are being taken. Poor McGonagall has to herd cats. ;) Harry will manage to get himself in some trouble (again) before the school can be closed, so no worries. Thank you!

    Woah! Ginny killed the Basilisk, cool! But Luna! Oh, poor Luna. I hope she makes a full recovery. Maybe Harry can actually make people apologize? Great chapter. I loved the mysterious bits about Snape. I wonder what he did. Great characterizations! I love the sweeping, imposing, in character Snape you write. Love that he told the Headmaster to shut up. XD

    Author's Response: Harry will probably start being friendly with Luna a bit earlier in this timeline than he did in the original. I'm glad you like "my" Snape. It is hard to balance his in-character behaviour with him being a bit nicer to Harry than in the original without it seeming random. Hope you will like the later parts. It is totally my headcanon that he is rather rude to Dumbledore in private. And that Dumbledore doesn't mind. It's probably based on that scene where Dumbledore asks Snape to kill him, and Snape is angry while Dumbledore cracks jokes. It just seems fitting that Dumbledore chooses to let him rant all he wants because he knows Snape will do what he asks him to do in the end, anyway.

    The children and characters are so well done, very in character. I loved all their bantering and interaction. They are so canon, and their dialogue and thoughts, and ideas are so inventive. It's a joy to read.

    Harry's idea to tell the Durselys that he was killed by a basilisk is hilarious, witty, and so in character. I think most people can't write that sort of witty, dry humor that is so integral to the books, but you pulled it off. Well done!

    Woah! What a bombshell! But I am glad that Harry's secret is now told. I loved all your characterizations in here, but I am rather mad at Dumbledore.

    I really hope that Snape can come up with a better way to help Harry than just telling Dumbledore.

    The part with the train and Snape getting Luna to go back was really cool. So nonchalant super power dream walker!Snape. I love how you add that coolness to his character. I'd love to see more of it.

    Woah! The plot thickins!

    Lockhart... just gotta shake my head and be glad he's dead. What a mess. Poor Lily. I wonder that Lily was able to keep the pregnancy from James. I guess she used concealment charms? And delivered Rose during the summer?

    Poor Severus... having this baby dangling in front of him, wanting to be her dad at some point.

    Poor Harry feeling unloved and unwanted. Wow.

    This is deep. And complicated. I appreciate you coming up with it, and writing it in such a way as to make sense, and fit in, and be plausible. Well done.

    Great story. Thank you for writing and sharing it, and updating.

    Author's Response: I was thinking that she faked/provoked a fight with James to explain a separation for a couple of months and then made up with him. It is rather difficult to write such a deep story, I am more of a fun and light stuff type of person, but the idea wanted to be written, so ... I can only hope to do it justice.     Woah! Direct beginning, you did a fantastic job in setting the scene and the characters. I really hope Harry won't be too badly tortured. This seems scary, and probably dark. I hope Harry and Snape both make it through such a difficult and horrendous time. I'm scared but want to read more. Thanks for sharing.

    Woah! Intense! What happened? Was it his mother’s protection? Or Harry’s magic itself? Or something Snape did? I bet Snape was really angry when Harry begged for death. I wonder if his Crucio was worse because maybe it came from his love rather than his hate?

    Great story so far, very strong descriptions, good telling of emotions. I enjoy the drama and mystery. I hope Harry is okay! What if it is his magic burning itself out? Eek! Please update when you can!

    Yay an update! Poor Sirius, although he had it coming. I liked the flash back. Great emotions on this chapter. Good characterizations. Overall it was good chapter.

    I do wonder how Harry is going to come out of this though. Will Snape be able to maybe contact him through Occlumency?
