Hi, I'm Jan. :D I love Snape and Harry fics, and just mentor fics in general. I first started Potions and Snitches (P&S) as a safe place to find Snape & Harry gen fics without stumbling into Snape and Harry slash (aka Snarry, or HP/SS).

Fandoms that I like to read fanfiction of include: Star Trek, Star Wars, Kung Fu : The Legend Continues, Dragonball Z, Stargate SG1, Batman, Angel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I like Gen and Mentor fics mostly. I love hurt/comfort, angst, whump, drama, raw emotions, and vivid descriptions best.

I know how to make and edit graphics, icons, and layouts (html and css). I am a master web searcher. XD

My dreams? One day I'd like to be able to run up a mountain effortlessly, or at least easily. :) I'd like to see Potions and Snitches host every single good Snape and Harry Gen fic there ever existed. I'd like to have people who post here get 100 reviews a chapter. I'd like active-to-the-bursting challenges and contests. I want the site to be a great, fun place that readers of Snape and Harry fics loved and knew as active.

    So Snape and Sirius had words. I think maybe they hashed it out and Sirius is less blood thirsty. We'll see. What is Snape's flat for?

    Great development in this chapter and story. Dumbledore's right, they don't have to be enemies. The potion is the enemy.

    Yikes! Snape really lost control. That's bad. He must feel terrible too.

    Umbridge is such a creep.

    I'm glad that Ron made up with Harry and Hermione. Harry needs both of them.

    What a stressful chapter. I hope they can get through this. If they can't, Harry will die.

    Awwww, this is such a darling story! Baby Harry is so cute. I loved your descriptions of his expressions and actions. Very cute. And how Harry yelled Nape! a bunch of times! So amusing.

    I love your writing. The pace is excellent and the plot is moving swiftly. Your characterizations are excellent.

    Yikes! Oh no, poor Harry. And the loss of the potion too. Yikes.

    I loved this chapter. Severus channeling his father and breaking down, and Harry trying to comfort him was sweet. The snake plush is so cute.

    Your Harry is adorable and very much in character. The snark and humor of both is spot on. Well done. I hope Harry is okay. The independence need of toddlers really got the best of them.

Taking place directly after the Battle of Hogwarts, Harry is trying to deal with his trauma from the course of the events of the war and struggles to confront it, along with trying to manage his grief. Snape survived but disappeared in shame and remorse after the battle. Harry finds him, and they both discover that they have more in common now more than ever - Both are struggling with their sense of self and purpose. But stray Death Eaters from the battle are re-grouping for a final stand to take out the great Harry Potter, and their traitor, and Harry and Snape must put aside their differences to end the fight once and for all, whilst dealing with Snapes' illness along the way. Explores darker themes of grief, self-blame, PTSD, depression, and suicidal ideation.

    Great first chapter! I love your version of Snape, so unique. We don't often get to see him in a position of weakness. If I were Harry I would bring Madame Pomfrey and McGonagall anyway.

    Awww, this is such a sweet beginning. I'm so glad that Snape is playful and kind in his own way, even though Harry is a Gryffindor. Harry needs encouragement and acceptance. I wonder if his new dorm mates will be as welcoming as the teachers so far.

    I think we might be missing a paragraph between these two:

    Harry nodded, grateful for the kindness he had been shown. However, his curiosity soon got the better of him, and he turned to Albus with a hesitant expression. "When will I be sent back to my relatives, sir?"

    Not really believing the older man, Harry nodded anyway. He wondered when they would give up on him, but he figured he should go along with this whole thing until then. Until they figured out he wasn't really a wizard, just a freak.

    I really enjoyed this chapter, and seeing Harry explore his new situation. I'm glad that he is finally away from his relatives but it appears that he is psychologically damaged from their care and will need time and help to get over that.

    I wonder how Draco will behave, since he never met Harry, and Harry did not have an opportunity to turn down his friendship. Maybe the house rivalries will be less serious in this timeline.

    I really liked this chapter and am glad that Harry and Snape are getting to know each other. Thanks for writing and sharing it!

    Nice beginning! I liked how Harry got a letter from his mother before all the Hogwarts letters came. That has got to be a sweet connection to her for him.

    Too bad Harry couldn't get his school supplies ahead of time like everyone else. That's going to be a problem when he gets to Hogwarts.

    I love that Snape is the one to fetch Harry and rescue him. Snape is very gentle with Harry in this one, it's sweet to see. I guess seeing Harry's situation has made it impossible to be mean to Harry. And Harry is sweet too, asking if his cousin can come too. Awww.

    I'm glad that Harry got the healing he needed and the rest in the hospital wing.

    I really like your characterization of Snape, and Dumbledore is spot on. Well done.
