Harry, having learned of his uncle's plans to step up the abuse against him, decides to run away. At the same time, Severus Snape, having been dispatched to ensure he is safe, discovers that Harry is abused and decides to kidnap him.

Author's Response: I agree, which is why I brought it up. It was clear in Canon that Harry was pretty much clueless and he certainly could have used a course in Wizardry Studies. I always wondered why they had a Muggle Studies class, but ignored the students with a lack of knowledge in the Wizardry side of things. Thanks for the review. At the beginning of Harry's first year at Hogwarts, the staff realize that he needs someone to help him.

I'm glad that Harry and Draco were able to make up. Great story! You update really fast! :) Author's Response: I tried to figure why Eileen would stay with an abusive husband. She was a witch after all! So this came up to my mind and I like her. I am updating fast because I have written a lot of chapters. I am a little stuck with the last ones, but I am working on them. Thanks a lot for reading. I love reviews. LL In response to Jan_AQ's challenge "Summer School," Harry learns that he is going to be spending his summer in school because he did absolutely appalling on his finals during fourth-year. He's not happy about it, though, because it was supposed to be his first summer of not having to live with the Dursleys. However, at Hogwarts, they have a different approach to summer school than Muggles do. Summer school teachers cannot teach their own subject. What, oh, what will Snape teach, if not Potions?

Exciting start, I hope the rest of your story is just as promising. Author's Response: I'm knocking it up to Harry having a really stressful year. I'm glad you liked this chapter. Hope the rest of the story lives up to your expectations. Thanks for the review. :)
Author's Response: Most people don't really like my characterizations so thanks. I'm glad you're enjoying him. Thanks for your review. :)
It was interesting even with the more fantasical parts. Not much character development for Professor Vetor, maybe later on? There's so many good characters at Hogwarts who get ignored simply because people don't already know a lot about them. I'm enjoying this story more and more with every chapter. I just don't often have time to read. :( Author's Response: In Professor Vector's defense, she's nervous. I think it's explained in the next chapter from Professor Sinistra, but Vector really is the only one that is remotely close to Snape in brewing. She's just nervous, though, because she's really outside of her element. She's used to numbers, not dangerous smoking potions that can kill people. :) She gets character development later on. When I was writing this chapter, I didn't have a lot of time so it had to be short. I'm just getting to her development, though. "Breakfast Oddities" is where we see Professor Vector the most. I agree with you about authors ignoring some good characters. I like to think I'm not one of those authors. Well, thank you for leaving me reviews when you do get a chance to read. I'm glad you're enjoying it.
Not much development in this chapter. But I'm definitely looking forward to whatever increased conflict develops between Harry and Draco. Author's Response: Sorry for not responding promptly to your review. I do give some details about Grindalwald in later chapters...namely "Dark Wizard's Downfall." So you might get some of what you were hoping for. I'd love to write a full class of History of Magic...I just don't know any of it. And you shouldn't have to wait too long for that conflict between the boys. :) Thanks for the review. The first paragraph was really good. It grabbed my attention and set the scene so. It's sorrt of freaky to think that there are actually people who think like that. Great story! Fawkes has a secret. Challenge Fest entry. Response to A Fawkes Secret by little-sun.
