The war is over, but not for Harry. Along with Sirius and Remus, Harry is forced to go into hiding... with Snape as their guardian.

Harry seems to be scared and mellowed down mostly. His own experience with Ron and Hermione was a lot different than the experience with Remus and Sirius. Well, let's see what happens next. Thirteen-year-old Harry is forced into the body of another Harry in a parallel world, where Snape adopted him years ago. And Snape is enraged to discover that his son has been replaced by a stranger. In our world, Snape discovers a new Harry--one who sees him as a father he never wanted to be. Each Harry must learn to survive in a strange new world, and search for a way home.

I think I must be crazy to be seeing this alternate twisted resolution where Snape of the AU dies and then AU-Harry & Lily form a family with this Snape & Harry after they somehow find a way to stay in one universe. ( I am crazy, I accept). Nevertheless, I love your story, the development of characters, specially Snape and Harry of JKR-world. They stay in character and yet evolve so beautifully and gradually. Hope u update soon. Thanks for a lovely story.
And yet, everything is not all well and happy. Harry Potter ends up taking part of the curse with him and I want to hope that the curse does not survive inter-reality travel since it's only sould which can travel that way and the curse latched to mind and not soul, I do not dare to hope. Perhaps, the other Snape, our Snape, can find a cure nevertheless. And hopefully, Lily is cured enough that the potions would help her get better. And I loved the flashes of death of Snape's father ... the way u used it. The entire chapter is awesome. As usual. :) After the final battle, Harry goes back into Snape's memories. What he finds, shocks him and turns what should have been his happiest days, into a living hell.

This is my first review but I have been following this story ever since it was first published and have loved the entire plotline. My only one complaint is that the story is its pace - it is very slow. As far as advancing the plot is concerned, very few things happen in each chapter - or maybe, it's only because I actually like it a lot and am always wanting to read more. That said, I realise that it is your style and that each of the chapter tells us about their relationship - I think maybe the problem is that I am not sure where the story is now going to. I still love your story and your writing in general. My only issues are pace and the feeling that the main part of the story is over. I am waiting on pins and needles for your 'Sparks Will Fly' update. Love that story as well. Lia Author's Response: Oh, I understand perfectly, but trust me, the story is not even started yet. I was going through a bit of writer's block, so I apologise if the story seems slow.
I will try to pick up the pace a bit, but the things that I have planned have to play out first, or it will seem too rushed. It's not easy finding a balance between slow and too rushed, but I'll try.
Thanks for reviewing.
After a series of tests to discover why Harry's magic has become erratic, a secret is revealed, one hidden for over fifteen years. But not all secrets disappear without consequence, leaving Severus to learn that potions cannot heal everything.

Author's Response: Cancer is a depressing thing, and it's not something that can be fixed overnight. Harry's in for a long journey, but you shouldn't be scared. Focus on the lighter moments inserted throughout the chapters. I have some more of those up my sleeve. ;) Thanks! The Golden Trio with help from the Weasley Twins and others decide that in order to solve their Snape problem, they need to find Snape a witch. However, none of them could have imagined how their actions would affect Snape or that it would end up uniting the entire school.

Author's Response: I'm glad you like it, Lia. I'm not quite sure what you're meaning with the phrase concerning Sinistra. I'm probably misreading it, but are you asking if I should keep her engaged with whom I have her with or that she should become engaged to Snape? Either way, thanks for the review. :)
Also, I am surprised that Snape did not take the essay personally and get mad at Harry. Author's Response: I made sure that his essay was written that badly to show that Snape was focusing more on the topic than its grammar. I'm sure the essay was rather colorful once Snape finished correcting it, though. :) I just didn't add that part in the chapter in the interest of time and space. The essay is typical of a young man Harry's age, though, at least that is what I have received from my students when I have them write essays. My thinking of why Snape's not taking it personally was that he did give Harry the topic of love potions. So in a way, it is his fault that Harry took it in a totally different way. Snape probably was also rather impressed with how detailed and throughly researched Harry's essay was. At least that's my thinking of that.
Author's Response: I'll try to write more/update tomorrow. The update should concern the Slytherins joining in, but who knows? I might have a sudden spur of energy and write a ton tomorrow. :) I'm glad you're still enjoying it, Lia. Thanks for the review. :) In his first year at Hogwarts, Harry is the only Gryffindor who signs up to stay at school for Christmas. At Dumbledore’s suggestion, he is temporarily transferred to the Slytherin dorms so he won’t spend Christmas morning alone. In Severus Snape’s opinion, not one of the Headmaster’s better ideas…

Loved Snape stealing into Hogsmeade to buy gifts from Zonko's! Loved the ending - subtly moving. Perfect amalgamation of humour, hurt/comfort, subtlest angst. Beautifully done! What if Harry came across Slytherin’s monster before the diary incident… and asked it to help him deal with his least favorite teacher?

Love the way you managed to convey all the sentiments and passage of time with just dialogue. I love the basilisk and am glad that it got its happy ending. Snape fainting was funny. I can imagine him being all solicitous towards Harry now and Dumbledore smirking at Snape's changed request - from expulsion to requesting foe Harry to stay even during summers. The best part abt the story is that being only in dialogues, it leaves the rest up to the reader's imagination. Great work! Author's Response: Hehe, thank you! Before discovering Harry Potter, I wrote only Trek fanfiction, and I'm enjoying all the different possibilities the Potterverse provides - to quote Harry, I love magic! Yes, Snape will probably try hard to stay on Harry's good side; I can just imagine him snapping at Harry during the summer, and then trying to make amends to a sulking eleven-year-old, who is his only access to those invaluable potion ingredients... might make for a nice sequel, actually :)! I'm glad you enjoyed the dialogue style, it was great fun to write! Thank you so much for reviewing! |
