About me:

I love to write and edit. You know those tests you'd do in school where you had to look at 5 different words and pick the correctly spelled one? Or "fix" wrong sentences? I loved those. ;-)

I've always got numerous stories in the works. I absolutely adore music. It's right up there with oxygen.

Harry runs into Snape while trying to find the definition of home, and finds himself drawn into Snape's summer Order task by the headmaster, looking for a location outside of London. Along the way, he and Snape learn a few new definitions themselves.

That first part was very amusing! Haha, I have this feeling that Snape talking about sex is something that many people don't want to hear. ;-)

I love that Harry called Snape "Dad" and, if I'm correct, neither one of them even noticed. I'd wager that they didn't pick up on it after their days in Amsterdam. Harry was quite used to calling him that and Snape was used to hearing it. And then there was the distraction of the Malfoys.

I love your portrayal of Snape's house. I'm writing a story and your version of Snape's house reminds me a lot of mine. I like it. I'm glad Harry likes it too and that he defended it. It's small, but very homey. :D

I'm very curious about T.S. Eliot. It would seem that Snape admires the man quite a bit, for he's named his "son" Elliot and Harry overheard him quoting "The Hollow Men" a few chapters back. I've always thought Snape would be a well read man so this excites me. Can't wait to see where you take it. :D

I love the relationship developing between Harry and Snape. You're doing such a great job with it.

HAHAHAHA!! That first scene had me cracking up! I loved how Harry was talking backwards and Snape was just taking it easy on the couch.

Poor Harry, getting bee stung, and allergic on top of that. I'm glad Snape was there to take care of them. I don't know why, but I like the idea of Snape in muggle clothes. Makes him seem more human. And Harry became Elliot twice again. Hmm, interesting...

I love how at home Harry is at Spinner's End, walking around barefoot and just generally being a normal kid at home. It's refreshing. I can see why he would want to stay.

I thought Dumbledore borrowing Harry was amusing and Snape waiting up for him was so endearing. Just don't tell him I said that. ;-)

Great job, as usual. As always, I am already looking forward to your next chapter! I'm so glad you're posting here! :D

I realized I never reviewed the last chapter. Oops. So I wouldn't let myself read the next till I actually reviewed. ;-)

Loved this one, as usual. I thought it was cool how Snape mentioned that Harry had called him "Dad" before. Snape notices. :D

The banter between them on the boat ride was cute and amusing. I like how comfortable they are with each other.

    Great chapter! :D

Harry is so confused, poor kid. All those thoughts and feelings he got when Bellatrix and Narcissa showed up, that is the kinda thing that Snape had wanted him to think about.

The scene at lunch from Petunia's POV was cute. Harry has a lot better manners than Dudley. :D

I think my favorite scene was when the cops brought Harry home. Harry was just so miserable, and Snape was obviously irritated, but you could still tell he cared. Aww.

I'm enjoying your story very much! :D

Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 13 - Questions and Results 19 May 2010

That was such a fun, happy chapter. I laughed out loud during the scene with Harry and the elf and the laundry. Especially when he called himself a full-wit. Hahahaha! :D

The daydreaming thing was interesting. So that's why Snape was so pleased that that was what harry was doing.

I thought it was sweet when Harry came to Snape after his nightmare, saying how he wasn't six anymore. The bantering between them about the nursing home was cute. I could never see Snape in a nursing home. He wouldn't stand for it at all. ;-)

Great chapter, as usual. I'm really looking forward to the next one or so, where I am assuming we'll get the adoption discussion. I love this story! :D

Title: Chapter 14: Chapter 14 - A Boy Called Elliot 24 May 2010

That was a nice wrap up to the summer. I'm glad Harry got adopted and I thought the way he decorated his room was very cool. You can tell he's really begun to take pride in his new father and feels quite at home. :-)

I think the name thing is cool, how Snape will occasionally call Harry "Elliot" instead. That's sweet. Harry mentally renaming the coffee to "Dad's bag of coffee" was a nice touch also.

This was a very good story. I'm sorry to see it end, but am excited that you plan on continuing this universe with a sequel. I can't wait!

I guess it turned out to be quite a good thing that Harry ended up drunk in Stockport this summer, didn't it? ;-)

Sequel to the Definition of Home. Now back at Hogwarts, Harry balances school and his home life as he prepares to face Voldemort and learns to trust Snape's guidance. Along the way they both learn that family also means support.

"This is huge. Like, prison huge." National Treasure fan, are we? I freakin' LOVE that film! ;-)

I am soooo happy to see this! This chapter was so good. I loved how Harry said he'd never felt guilty about getting in trouble before. That was a nice, little profound moment for him.

This story sounds like it'll be as good as your first, if not better. :-)

    Keep up the nice work!

    Author's Response:

If you pay attention well enough you'll notice all sorts of very subtle and some not so subtle throwbacks to movies and books. ;)  A lot of Douglas Adams, but I mash it up depending on my mood. And thanks!

Sorry I haven't been around to review lately. I've been super busy studying and working and have had no time left to read fan fiction. :-(

I liked this chapter. It's interesting to watch how Snape and Harry continue their relationship over the school year. I wonder when Hermione and Ron will be told the whole story... ;-)

Hahahaha, that was funny and sweet. I always enjoy a bit of little Harry. Hermione doesn't miss much, that's for sure. I'm sure it won't be long before she understands more and Harry will spill.

This sequel is just as well done as the first story was. I love it. :D

That last line from Hermione is just plain awesome. I enjoyed the observation of Harry's room and new life coming from his friends. I liked the part where Harry realized that Snape was receiving his report card from the owl, and then later discovering it on the fridge. Nicely done. I was all happy for him. :D
