About me:

I'm currently a college student who works in retail. I write in my space time, and am working on an original novel. I think writing fanfic is fun and a great way to try out new writing techniques as well as get quick feedback for writing an original piece of fiction can be very lonely in the early stages. It also allows me to forget about revising a scene more times than I can count and not have to worry about every single word being the exact word that needs to be there.

I love reading fanfic and have been reading various fandoms for years. If you need a beta, contact me and if I'm interested in your story premise, and you can take constructive criticism, I'd be willing to help.

Yay, good for Harry! It's great he's ready to return to Hogwarts. It's a huge step for him to take and one he needs to take. With Harry and Severus at Hogwarts full time I hope there'll be some progress soon on the slavery spell.

Perhaps part of Draco's new role could be helping with it. He might not know enough to figure something out but he could say something which sparks a thought in Severus or Albus. Great chapter.

Author's Response: Thank you, Ella!  Yeah, Harry did need to return and coming to the Yule Ball was the necessary step that helped him to realize it.  And yes, Draco still has a role to play.

This was a great chapter, Kristeh. I love that Harry continues to include Draco. It shows how far Harry is coming with forgiveness and also just growing up. He's realized that while he could hate Draco forever, it won't change anything.

Attending the Yule Ball is a step forward for Harry even with the use of polyjuice. I hope it'll boost his confidence and make him realize he doesn't have to hide away.

The early Christmas gift of a camera was also a great idea. It's just another example of something Harry was robbed of during his childhood. I can see him taking pictures of everything for a while, just like a little kid.

I'm anxious to see how the Yule Ball goes for Harry. I hope it's a happy experience.

PS: I loved the bit where Draco was worrying about his appearance. He's been subdued lately, and it's a good reminder that even through the changes Draco hasn't completely morphed into an entirely different person with a completely different personality.

Author's Response: Thank you, Ella!  Just attending the Yule Ball is a big step for Harry, and of course I have plans for it.  I can see Harry snapping photos like crazy too, at least for a while.  And glad you like Draco...yeah, some things never change, lol.

Great chapter, Kristeh! Over the last few chapters you've had Harry's feelings over the slavery spell as a main plot point that I can't help but wonder where that's leading to. At least I think it's leading to somewhere not just Harry continuing to express his insecurities.

I'm so glad Harry will get to go to the Yule Ball and spend some time our in the "real world." He needs to break his isolation and not forget that there's a wonderful world out there full of wonderful people (and girls like Severus said) that's waiting for Harry to experience and explore. He may currently technically be a slave (I still believe there'll find some way to free him soon) but he's really only a slave if he allows himself to feel like one, especially in Severus' eyes.

I loved the fluffiness at the end. It shows just how far Harry and Sev have come in their relationship and how comfortable Harry is feeling with having Sev as his father.

    Author's Response:

Thank you, Ella!  Well, the slavery spell is always an underlying issue through the story.  Sometimes it's more in the spotlight than at other times, but it is always in the background.  Things will be resolved at some point, but not just yet.

Yes, Harry really does need to get back out into the world, and if using polyjuice potion is what  he needs to take the first steps, then Severus is willing to help him out there.  And yes, Severus never regards Harry as a slave and he doesn't want Harry to see himself that way either, but he does recognize that it's difficult for him.

And yeah, they've come a long way, haven't they?

Looking forward to another chapter for you!

After the final battle, Harry goes back into Snape's memories. What he finds, shocks him and turns what should have been his happiest days, into a living hell.

Great chapter. I loved Sev showing Harry that memory. It really brought home to him how serious alcoholism can be, and it's always more impacting when you see something that like from another person.

I hope Harry gets to speak with Hermione and Ginny soon, but that he doesn't get in trouble for it.

    Author's Response:

Thank you. I think that the memory was necessary, even though it was very painful for Severus. But Harry needed to see that to really understand what dangers drinking can lead to.

Well, at least he's going to talk to Ginny, and we'll see how well that goes. Yeah, Severus wouldn't be too pleased if he knew.

Ha! Sev totally picked an old boot on purpose!

Great chapter, Pandora. I'm excited for the next, almost as excited as Harry. I can't wait to see Harry "going home" and find out about what Sev has in store for a personal detention.

    Author's Response:

Yeah, he did pick the boot on person! LOL! Just to irk Harry. :)

Thanks. Yeah, Harry is like a little child. He's never really had a home before, or at least not with people that cared for him.

Yeah, Severus has something interesting planned for Harry.  (Evil cackle)

Great chapter, Pandora. I loved the irony in Sev volunteering to do the dishes only to have Harry scrub cauldrons and such.

Reading this left me wishing Christmas was closer. I love the holiday season from the smell of cinnamon to the fun sparkly stuff in stores. Every week we get more and more winter weather stuff where I work (despite it being in the 80s still), and I just can't wait for the cooler weather, Christmas trees, Black Friday, (Yes, even though I'll have to work it. I love all the great deals) and Christmas itself. :) Oh, and I can't forget Christmas music!

I also love how excited Harry is to fix up Spinner's End. I hope he can get Sev excited, too. I can't wait to see Harry's personal taste in color choices and decor.

    Author's Response:

Thanks Ella, I'm really looking forward to YOUR next chapter.Yeah, that is so a Snapish thing to do, isn't it? Well, he did tell Harry that he would have to serve his detention, so that it would be fair to the others who remained at Hogwarts. The detentions are not much longer anyway.

I know what you mean. I was writing this, and getting all excited! As I was writing about the Christmas trees and the lights, I wanted to go out and get a Christmas tree!  Well, unfortunately it's not 80 degrees here, but it has been warmer than usual for this time of year, but it's really cold at night.

Somehow, I think that Severus is going to get all caught up in it, despite himself.

Ugh, my review didn't go through. Let's see what I remember.

Great chapter, Pandora. I was happy to see this story on the update list. I could feel Harry's anticipation for Christmas here and I can't wait to read how he'll decorate the house.

I'm surprised that Harry still wants to be an Auror or is still considering it considering everything that has happened to him. I'm wondering how the information session will go for him. If it'll help him decide one way or the other.

    Author's Response:

Thanks. Yeah, he's like a big kid.  Poor Sev, Harry's going to go all out in decorating!

Well, I think that being an Auror is something Harry has wanted for a long time, and I know that many fanfiction authors have him choose another career, but I'm trying to stick with Canon as much as I possibly can in this story. Obviously, much of it is AU, but I still like to try to keep to Canon where I'm able to and since Harry became an Auror, I'm sticking with that.

Well, there IS an information session, but that is not the only reason that Harry is going to the Ministry.

Oh, I can't wait for an update from you too!! :)

*Squeals* I love happy Christmas chapters. I only wish it were longer and more detailed. I have to wonder what other presents were under the tree and if Severus did give into stuffing Harry's stocking as well. Very thoughtful gifts.

I was hoping you'd include more about the Auror training program information session. I wanted to see how Harry reacted with the details as I'm still not quite convinced he'll be an Auror. Hmm, maybe that's just wishful thinking. I don't think Severus is up for it, either.

Great chapter, Pandora. I hope you feel better.

    Author's Response:

Oh don't worry, there is a lot more Christmas cheer coming up! The next chapter will have a lot of interaction between Harry and Severus, as well as the Weasleys, and some other surprises as well.

I am going to have some on the Auror Training program, coming up. Perhaps as a memory or a flashback, but there will be more of that as Harry comes closer to graduating.

OOh, and I'm having withdrawls for your lovely story!!! Any updates soon?

A summer trapped with Snape seemed the ultimate torture, but when Harry begins to trust his enemy, a terrible betrayal sends him spiraling into desperation. Will he have the strength to survive? Not canon. Mentions abuse. Takes place after 2nd year.

Great chapter. I love that Harry showed Sev he trusted him by allowing Sev into his mind. I can't think of a more intimate way of showing trust than that.

Yay that Harry got to hear I love you from Snape. It does feel good when Harry fully trusts Snape. Now, some things will be so much easier for you to write.

As he makes the choices that define his life, Harry learns exactly what it means to be Severus' son. Third in the Lily's Charm series.

Great chapter. Harry seems so normal, and it's refreshing. He's worried over typical teenage melodrama and after all he's been through he deserves a day or two to sulk. ;)

I'm happy to see Hermione come to cheer Harry up. He needed to be around someone his own age after being around adults constantly.

I love that song, too. I used to listen to it all the time.

I'm looking forward to the next chapter. I'm guessing Harry will kiss Ginny, and they'll break up completely. Maybe that's just my own wishful dreams. ;)

Author's Response: Thanks!  Glad you enjoyed it so much.  LOL Not a Harry/Ginny fan, eh?  :oP
