Author's Response: Thanks, autumn! I'm planning bits of family life interspersed with the action & mysteries throughout this story to lighten it from time to time. As for Snape, I can tell you that this is AU, so he might not be dead! (JKR killed him off, so I feel compelled to keep bringing him back, one way or another, in my stories...) Not all characters show up in all chapters, and the inclusion of 2 major new chars (Sherlock & John) will spread everyone out a bit, but it'll all work out in the end. Thanks for your patience! Author's Response: I decided the Muggles would ask the obvious question -- why keys? -- so I went ahead and answered it, incorporating a bit of humor in the process. Since Hermione is Muggle-born, I figured she'd be the obvious person to pose the question, since she knows full well that Wizards don't "need" keys! Thanks for the review! :-)

This is a super-quickie sequel to my 200+ word drabble, “Happy Meal”. I would strongly urge you to click on Happy Meal before reading Bitter Pill; otherwise, you’ll have NO idea what the heck is going on! This story begins right where Happy Meal left off, in the aftermath of my alternate Whomping Willow scene near the end of Harry’s Third Year, as Snape unexpectedly joins forces with the Gryffindors to orchestrate Wormtail’s “escape”.
