- "Parting is such sweet sorrow"-- I think Shakespeare said it best! Oh, a sadly-sweet departure from the security of his old life into the adventure of the future. You certainly captured the poignancy of the moment, with Harry looking ahead while Snape remembers the past. Very nicely done! :-)

- "... laminate themselves to the ceiling"-- hee! Also, I love the imagery produced by the warp and weft description! Wow! I do have to admit, however, that I didn't quite get the statement about McGonagall stepping down so Hardbroom could meet with the students in a more "pastoral" sense. I've never experienced "The Worst Witch" in any form, so I come at your story without any preconceptions. I'll look forward to seeing how this develops!
Author's Response: Thanks; the logic behind McGonagall stepping down is that, when a teacher only interacts with students during lessons, they don't really get to know them; the stresses of the classroom, especially in a practical class, are such that the teacher will spend most of the time teaching/averting disaster and almost no time on a one-to-one basis (unless the student is seriously bad!) However, as a Head of House, a teacher can really get to know students because they can arrange activities, interview the kids, help with problems, etc. Therefore, if Miss Hardbroom became a Head of House for a term, she would interact a lot more with the children and, as Gryffindor has some very clever, very personable muggleborns, it's the obvious choice; Miss Hardbroom's concerns over the teachabillity of young muggleborns would evaporate after spending any time with Hermione! I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter and liked the warp/weft description- I worked on that one for quite a bit before I was happy about it.
When Death is thwarted and doesn't know why, it's never what one would consider a typical thing. The fact that Death isn't all that pleased about being out of the loop doesn't help much either.

- Oh, WOW! How did I miss this story when it first got posted??! *eyes bug out* I really enjoyed your creative streak in designing Death! Also, I enjoyed not only the interaction between Death & Harry, but also the friendly jibes between Death & Mother Nature. Quite a pair, those two! Hee! Then there's the troll... I could almost feel sorry for it! And Quirrell's swan song brings Death to Harry's doorstep once more! Glad to see that Death won't be actively hunting Harry, but how long will he bide his time? Terrific first chapter, Wands! But where's the rest of the story...? Waiting, waiting, etc. for an update! (*hints* This is a great summer story!) :-D

- Whoa! Quite a fascinating start to the story! I can understand Harry's fascination with his father and brother, but I'm wondering where he will draw the line concerning future self-sacrifice involving Kenai (cool name! -- does it have a meaning?). Also, I'm REALLY wondering when Snape will get his hands on Harry's journal! It seems inevitable at some point, right?! (My cell phone is having issues reviewing, so if I don't review again soon, be assured that I AM reading! :-) )
Author's Response: Kenai is both a Hawaiian and an Alaskan name. As an Alaskan name it means bear (I believe). I always liked it anyhow. It's funny that you're reading this now because I've been re-reading this all day so I can get to where I've left off and finish up the last few chapters. Have no fears about the journal! - Oooh, I'd love to be a fly on the wall for the discussion between Snape & Kenai about Harry's using the "Snape" uniform! But I'm also intrigued by the vial of anti-scarring potion; it sounds like it must have been MADE by Snape, but did he send it, or did Kenai, or did Draco? Hmm...
Detention turns into disaster as Snape, Hermione, Draco, Harry and Ron are tossed 96 years into their past. Canon up to PoA, AU after. Enemies become friends united in a quest to return home. Harry discovers family in the most unlikely of wizards.

- Oh-oh... Somebody said the V-word! Not good... But I really loved the chapter overall, with its blend of action, romance, flu/potions, discussions of Vows and Oaths and their accompanying consequences, and especially King Henry's interventions and mediations! I can't wait to see what comes next!

As far as Harry knew, it was all some sort of experiment that only Dumbledore could understand. He had no idea that the cat he had been given to keep him company instead of Hedwig over the holidays before his 3rd year, was in fact, his hated Potions Master in disguise.
Because of the Azkaban escapee, Sirius Black, Severus is sent to stay with Harry during the entire summer, never making a sound nor leaving the boy's side. He could not speak, nor could he defend Harry against anyone other than the criminal on the loose, however Severus does something that no other adult in Harry's life had done before...he listened.

- I really love the characterization of the cat. You can tell he's magical, by the human nodding, shaking, cleaning Harry's glasses of mud, etc.,but the ferocity of the true feline is fantastic when he defends Harry from the bullies! Loving it!
