Greetings from Virginia! I began reading Harry Potter fanfiction in 2006, and P&S is my favorite site by far! As a writer, I just hope that my readers will enjoy my stories. I always appreciate it when people take the time to leave a review!

 My hobbies include reading (of course!), quilting, Star Trek (TOS being my fave series), and I've recently begun studying Esperanto online.

I love cats, although I no longer have my own. But 26 cats have shared my life since I was a young child, and I have a plethora of wonderful, zany, and sometimes bizarre memories! (During the pandemic, I discovered a wonderful YouTube channel in Turkey--if you are a cat lover, please check out the "walter santi" YouTube channel and prepare to fall head over heels with numerous cats, plus Walter the dog! Santi is the white indoor cat.)

 Alan Rickman is forever in my heart. 🐢

    Fantastic first story, Con Moto! I really liked the back-and-forth from present to past and back again as Harry explores the mystery, and Severus reveals bit by bit how the song came about. It helps prolong the final revelation, and Harry's long-buried memory does the rest. Wonderful sense of emotions throughout! So glad it showed up tonight! :-) Well done!

After helping Draco Malfoy escape the custody of Sirius Black, Harry endures the wrath of his Godfather. When Snape comes looking for Draco, Harry tells him that Draco has run away, and that he won’t tell him where Draco is unless Snape takes Harry with him. **Note** I'm aware that some of you don't like bad!Sirius stories. Don't worry, Sirius isn't actually in the story much, however there is redemption in the end. It's not so much that he's just bad, more that he's fallen. This story is about how people fall, and how they can make it back out in the end, getting a second chance. It is NOT a character bashing story.

    I was not expecting THAT ending! Man... I won't even ask how it would be possible! Just go with it, etc...

    I really wasn't sure that I wanted to read an addiction story -- as a child, I was forced to live with my mother's addiction to alcohol. As an adult, I steer clear of people who engage in addictive behaviors. The idea of Harry as an addict...ugh! But I'm glad that you didn't soft-pedal the plot. No easy answers, no quick resolution. Day to day, hour to hour, minute to minute struggle to survive the cravings. I applaud your tenacity in seeing it through to the end, which really isn't an end, but at least Harry is more upbeat as he heads through the future. We should all have friends as devoted as Harry's! Awesome job!

    Your opening chapter is full of intrigue and already feels creepy! The concept of the carnival itself reminds me of one of my fave films, "Something Wicked This Way Comes". It'll be interesting to see how your story develops, and what becomes of the relationship between Snape and Harry in this unusual situation. I think it's very telling that Snape himself got sucked into the carnival, rather than merely dragging Harry away by the scruff of his neck. We'll see...

    I had to laugh when Harry put his hand against the wall & all the carnival lights went off! (Reminded me of when I worked in a furniture store and hit ENTER on the computer, and all the lights in the store went off! Pure coincidence, but it FELT like cause and effect! I KNEW exactly how Harry felt!!!) You have really created an ominous atmosphere that permeates the story as a whole. The most innocuous actions are infused with this surreal tension, like simply eating dinner. Looking forward to the next update! (And wondering if Harry is going sleepwalking with the guard animals wandering loose...)

    Really loved the whole story, especially since Harry himself seemed so REAL throughout. His reactions in human form to his situation were dead on, and his behavior in fox form was absolutely believable. Wonderful interaction with Snape, and I thought the idea of Snape himself having a fox form was terrific. Any chance at all that Snape is Harry's bio-dad? (In spite of Harry looking like James...) Just thought I'd ask! Splendid job! Way to go! Thanks so much! :-)

    Thank you so much for your review, I'm so glad you think Harry was believable! Yes, in my personal backstory to this fic, Snape is Harry's bio-dad (not sure how... maybe the usual one-night stand with Lily when James was being a bastard, maybe something else), and passed on his Natural Animagus talent to his son...

    Fabulous start to the story! You had me hooked from the opening, and now you're playing me like an expert angler! I really love the contrast of Harry's more mature point of view played against the Fourth Year scenario -- you show how he is capable of appreciating Snape the man, as opposed to the superficial image of the greasy dungeon git.     Missed this story when it was first posted (saw it now as Story of the Moment). Loved all of the details, but especially the train set & "Dud", and also the cheeky train card! Very nice that Snape is willing to mentor Harry after all they've been through. Glad I finally got to read this! :-D

    That is so sweet! I love the owl family! Also, the fact that Snape came across as so understanding in the middle of the night! (Hmm... Just how did he manage to clap his hand on Harry's invisible shoulder? Maybe Dumbledore gave him lessons in how to see through the cloak? Hee!) Your storyline has a lot of potential for future development, if you decided to expand this story, or create a sequel or series. :-) Meanwhile, I just loved this!
