I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter!

Severus Snape is my hero and favorite character by far. I have never forgiven J.K. for killing him off. I love to see him as a father figure to Harry. (Who needs James Potter? Not me!)

There are few pairings that I won't read about, but for some reason I cannot abide Ginny Weasley, unless she is a villian. I like her that way. Though that doesn't mean that I won't read fics with her as the love interest, it's just not my preference. Truth is that I adore reading and my tastes are rather eclectic, so bring on the stories, because I'm ready to review!

I have just started my first attempt at a Harry Potter fanfic and I hope that everyone will enjoy it. I welcome all constructive critism and any advice given will be noted.

    Lovely! I'm glad that Severus, Minerva, and the other Heads were able to put Albus in his place and make him see reason. I'm sure that Harry and Severus will be very happy in their new roles. I would absolutely love to see this series continued at some point if you feel up to it. Great Trilogy!

Before Harry arrives at Hogwarts, the faculty have a meeting and decide that Harry will need a mentor to help him adjust, keep him out of trouble, and make protecting him easier. They decide that this person should the Head of the House into which Harry is sorted, presumably Minerva McGonagall. But things, of course, don't turn out as planned, and Harry is harder to deal with than anyone expected. Nobody asked him if he wanted a mentor, after all...

    At least Severus warned Dumbledore about the very real danger that the Dursleys are in, though in a way I wish he hadn't! xD What scares me most is that Harry actually seems to WANT to go back to them. I guess he just doesn't think that anyone else would care enough to take him in..he just can't fathom it. I think Severus needs to consider taking him in.

    Author's Response: LOL, yeah. I know exactly how you feel. And Harry's an idiot, but then we people generally get attached to our families regardless of how they treat us. Honestly I find 'canon' Harry unrealistic in this respect. I could see him not wanting to see them OFTEN, but at all? I still visit my Dad and he's not an easy person to get along with, either. *shrug* Anyway, thanks for the review! Glad you like the chapter!

    I'm torn as to what to say about this story. Don't get me wrong it's fabulous. I guess the best way to put it is...this is a well-written emotional rollarcoaster and I can't wait to see where you take me next.

    Harry and his friends should have told an adult, true, but Hermione most likely would have died if they had, so I'm glad that they decided to look for her. There simply wasn't time to search for an adult, so they did the only thing they could and fought the troll. I'm glad that the punishment wasn't too harsh. I hope that Severus will be able to protect Blaise from his guardians. I would hate for him to be forced to take the mark, as it is clear that he has no interest in it.

    Severus already has his answer and I hope that he will realize it quickly for Harry's sake. No one else could give Harry what he needs and craves. Harry's acting out was a cry for HIS attention, a test if you will. Harry is of course confused right now by Severus' stubborn refusal to 'go away' and hopeful that he never will go away. I hope that Severus will wake up and realize that he needs to tell his child that he IS his child, no matter what. The sooner Severus gets those adoption papers, the better! :D

    Severus is beginning to break through Harry's resistance. Harry wants to be loved, but doesn't yet know how to accept it, which complicates things, but in time I'm sure that Severus will prevail.

    A part of me wishes that Petunia could have proved to have at least a little bit of a heart, but no she had to be a nasty old biddy instead. Poor Harry! He just wants to be loved and was unfortunate enough to be placed with unnatural people instead of a loving family. I hope that he and Severus will be able to work through their problems and soon, so that something like this can be avoided in the futured.

    I know that it is hard for Harry to understand still that his friends, teachers, and most importantly Snape really do care about him, but I fervently hope that he will at least try to consider their feelings before he pulls another such stunt. It's really sad that the Dursleys are such unnatural people to treat a child so badly and worse, to teach THEIR child to do the same. Is it terrible of me to hope that something happens that will make them realize that THEY are the freaks?

    It's good to see Psycho again. I'm really glad that Severus had the foresight to see that she would be good for Harry. I look forward to seeing her reactions to Harry's friends...and enemies. :D

    Well...at least we don't have to worry about Quirrell anymore. Blaise did the right thing when he told Severus about what he and Hermione discovered. I wonder if Severus has considered that if Blaise figured out the truth, perhaps others have as well?

    Even though Harry isn't ready to admit it to himself, he relies on Severus to give him a sense of stability. He is beginning to see Severus as a parental figure, albet reluctantly, and he trusts him.
