I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter!

Severus Snape is my hero and favorite character by far. I have never forgiven J.K. for killing him off. I love to see him as a father figure to Harry. (Who needs James Potter? Not me!)

There are few pairings that I won't read about, but for some reason I cannot abide Ginny Weasley, unless she is a villian. I like her that way. Though that doesn't mean that I won't read fics with her as the love interest, it's just not my preference. Truth is that I adore reading and my tastes are rather eclectic, so bring on the stories, because I'm ready to review!

I have just started my first attempt at a Harry Potter fanfic and I hope that everyone will enjoy it. I welcome all constructive critism and any advice given will be noted.

    Poor Poppy; her instincts are right on. She is going to be horrified when she realizes just how badly abused Harry was by his relatives. I cannot wait to see the reactions of Dumbledore and McGonagall when they find out the truth too. They are sure to be shocked. Dumbledore should have known something was up when Harry practically begged at the end of each school year to not be sent back to his relatives....

    It's really terrible that the other professors assumed that Severus had done something terrible to Harry. A single illness generally wouldn't make someone lose that much weight in such a relatively short amount of time. I hope that they feel really awful when they find out truth. I really appreciated it when Harry showed support for Severus by sitting next to him. It's really good that he is so very perceptive and I hope that he never loses that trait.

    It makes me really sad that Severus decided to obliviate Harry. I kind of understand why he did, but it could have been a way for their relationship to improve. I hope that Severus will at least keep in mind what Harry said and realize that Harry isn't the spoiled, overindulged child he thought he was.

    Author's Response: Yes, the conversation on Harry's part was rather revealing, and you can see Snape deciding to include him in his own birthday, but the Potions Master simply can't allow Harry to recall the whole experience, although Snape himself will never forget it!     I'm really happy that Severus made it known that he wants custody of Harry. It was also quite clever of him to have Ron send a letter about what he was told or had gleaned about Harry's existance at the Dursley's home. I feel that it was the weight that tipped the balance....

    It's really sad that Lily took it to that point. She shouldn't have thrown away that box of memories. I know that what Severus called her was awful, but she had to have known that he didn't really mean it. I would like to think that she would have regretted her choice to throw away their friendship and the box at a later date. I'm glad that Severus treasured their times together enough to keep the box and to later, be able to share his good memories of her with Harry.

    It's going to tear Severus apart to re-age Harry and Hermione. He has fallen in love with Harry, in particular, and I know that he wishes that he could keep him little and raise him as his own. With luck, Harry will at least have some good childhood memories to hold onto when he's grown up again. This has to positively affect their relationship (at least I hope). It's not too late for Severus to save Harry, after all.

    I do hope that Severus and Harry recover as quickly from their illness as Hermione did. Though it is rather sweet to have them all cuddled up together in Severus' bed. :D

    This is a lovely story, so far. Harry and Hermione are so sweet and Severus' reactions to them are priceless. He is definitely beginning to fall in love with them (especially little Harry). I can't wait to find out what goes wrong...er...happens on the shopping trip. :D

    I hope that Severus will look closer into Harry's living situation now that he knows that the child shows all the classic signs of being abused. Harry needs someone to take care of him, even once he's re-aged; a father figure if you will.

    A part of me hopes that the potions won't work. It seems to me that both children were abused in a way, though Hermione's is much more subtle...I get the feeling that perhaps her parent's expectations are extremely high, even to the point of being ridiculous, and she has become terrified at gaining their disappointment. It's good that they wish her to do well, but if they push to hard, particularly when she is this young, it will foster in her the tendency to become far too focused on somethings, like studying, while ignoring the rest, such as socialization. All children need to play, just as they need to learn.

    The shaving scene was so sweet and Severus is going to be hard pressed to live it down once Minerva tells the tale (there's no way she could resist).

    I'm glad that Draco did as Severus asked and gave the children a chance. I have a feeling that he, like Severus, will never be able to go back to acting toward Harry and Hermione the way he used to. I do know that they have had a great deal of fun and have begun to bond. I also have to say that Draco does the big brother role very well.

    I'm really glad that Severus wasn't more seriously hurt when he crashed on the snow hill. I have to wonder what kind of punishment Draco has to look forward to? I highly doubt that Severus will let him get away with out getting one.
