Being sent to stay in a psychiatric ward at St. Mungo’s isn’t exactly the most enjoyable way to spend a summer, so naturally, Harry’s pretty angry when he finds out that’s his destination, regardless of whether or not it might be good for him. Facing a full summer of being cut off from the Order’s plans, Harry’s even taken to envying Snape, because at least Snape knows what is going on. But when Harry arrives at St. Mungo’s and discovers that a fire has changed his destination from the teen ward to the adult ward, everything is turned upside down. Enter his roommate - suicidal, depressed, and none other than Severus Snape. They are both willing to bet that their summer will be a total disaster, and maybe it will be, but even the surest of gamblers are not always right.

Great chapter. I enjoyed Ron's visit, how it isn't overly emotional, and how Dumbledore accepts what Snape told him. It feels like things are moving ahead.
I've just happened across this story, and am enjoying it. I am looking forward to reading more. Keep up the good work.
Author's Response: Hey darkorangecat! It's awesome to hear you liked Ron's visit. I tried to make it realistic, and considering the guys I know, that's probably how it would go down. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, and I will most certainly keep trying to deliver good chapters! Cheers!

I like that Harry was able to help Snape out of a nightmare. Nice new chapter.
Author's Response: I am glad you are pleased Harry was able to help Severus. Thanks a lot for sharing your thoughts!
Harry has a little problem, followed by a little freak out, and compounded by a confusing conversation with the Sorting Hat, who has special things in mind for him and Professor Snape. A (sort of) Christmas story as a lot of it revolves around Harry's wish for a good Christmas. [About the selected warnings] most of those were just to be safe. The Dursley's and their abuse is hardly mentioned, the corporal punishment is for the way the other students treat Harry (as well as the violence warning), and the limited use of profanity is mild.

Children who are abused do reach the end of their ropes, and, when someone comes along who is persistent and consistent in their lives, someone they can trust, they do tell. They also make it out like it's no big deal. So, for me, at least, I think this is very believable, and I like the pace at which this story is going.

I like that Draco is a bit hyper, and can totally envision him being that way (in a safe environment, and in his second year). It's a cool idea that Slytherin 'adopts' those who have been abused. I like the idea of Theodore Nott being there to help Harry through this.

I was in the middle of typing a review, and hope that it didn't accept my partial review as one -- if so, that's why it is abruptly cut off. Computer glitch.
I am really enjoying this story, and am curious/concerned about Dumbledore's scowl as Snape leaves. I like the laughter between Harry and Theo, and am really looking forward to reading more of this.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. The pacing worked well. I like how you had Harry reveal (slowly, and not all at once) how he was treated by the Dursleys. The ending works very well. Nicely done.

Very interesting twist in your tale. Intriguing. I'm looking forward to seeing what Draco and Snape will do with what they know, and how Harry, and the others, will escape.
Author's Response: Hey there! Yes, it was rather a surprise, (I adore a good shock in a story, hah!) Thank you for taking time to review, :) I hope to update this weekend.

Seems like both Harry and Severus are having a hard time accepting the truth. Hopefully they'll be able to get over this hurdle.
