Twenty years after the War, Harry is a solid family man who's taken in one more. In helping this damaged little boy, he finds himself thinking about his old professor, quite a bit.

Author's Response: That's gotta be a Wizard proverb or something.
Author's Response: Your welcome!
Author's Response: Do you mean choosing to come back? He didn't--that was what the conversation in Sirius' room was about, "I asked you a question. When they sent you back. Was it a punishment or a reward?" Life is painful and unfair and Snape's soul is hurting. He's trying to work out if Tim's life is a punishment for his sins or not. And naturally, Snape's private hell would be furnished with Harry Potter. And a Lily who would abandon him, again. And adults who would fail him, again. And a body whose magic was, perhaps, crippled. Harry's angry defense of the boy is immensely reassuring. Cauldron’s bubbled. Potions simmered. And Snape was yelling at Neville again. Just another ordinary day in Potions class, or so they all thought. When a potion reveals something out of the ordinary, Harry’s life is changed forever, and not in a positive way. Was it so unreasonable to ask that he be allowed to make it through sixth year like a normal teenager?

Author's Response: In my mind Ron is upset because he believes Harry has switched sides. Previously it's been him and Harry against the Slytherins and against the world. Now Harry is uncertain and that bothered Ron enough to push him over the edge. But since Harry and Ron aren't talking, and Hermione and Ginny are also sort of out of the picture, Harry doesn't know this, and neither does the reader, at least not yet. Sorry it bothered you that much, but it bothered Harry that much too and I wanted the reader to be upset by it.
Thanks for the review. Constructive criticism is of course always welcome so I definitely don't mind. I always look for ways to make my writing better. |
