Snape wants to be Slytherin's new head of house. Harry wants a home. Dumbledore has a plan for these two. If Snape can prove he can take care of the 9 year old, the job is his. But taking care of a kid isn't as easy as it looks. As the young dark eyed Potions Professor tries to do his best, Harry learns what it means to have a good guardian, even if he isn't a perfect one.

    Definitely maths! Glad that Colm has given Severus a few much needed pointers to dealing with a child. Its also good to see that Severus has a long way to go in his own career, with much work to do - all too often he appears to have got a Potions Mastery in no time at all.

    Really good chapter,and its hard to believe that English is not your first language. You have a talent for making your characters come alive, and I love how you are writing Ron -its refreshing to read something that allows his good points to come to the fore.

    Author's Response: Thank you so much for your words, they mean a lot to me. I have been trying to show Ron how I think he would be by the end of the books: mature and traumatized by the war, but also keeping that sense of humor and loyalty that we all know and love. I hate when people write him as this one-dimensional character that is only there for comedic relief and has no sensitivity whatsoever. It's non believable and an insult to the character, tbh... Anyway, thank you again for the comment and have a nice day! :)

Severus is in big trouble. He doesn't have any kids, but he's supposed to be bringing his son to Christmas to meet his family, who he's been estranged from for twelve or thirteen (or more) years. Harry ends up being that pretend son.
