AU of Deathly Hallows. Severus Snape didn't die in the Shrieking Shack, and is on trial as a Death Eater. With Albus Dumbledore dead, it falls to Harry Potter to aid in proving his innocence. Of course, things are never that simple, and there's another small problem that Harry has to take care of.

- AWESOME! Please have Hermione and Harry be soul-mates and please have Snape be Harry's biological father! It would just make this story even better!

Romance isn't really a focus of this story.
And, at least for the moment, the only couples that will be referred to will be canon. (As much as I personally dislike Harry/Ginny).
The pairings really aren't going to be a focal point. It's really going to develop more with regard to Harry and Snape's relationship, and whether or not they can get over their mutual animosity, etc. Harry and Hermione's friendship will be very important, as she's going to be integral to keeping Harry focused, and sort've be there for him to lean on while everything is spinning out of control.
So, sorry, but romance of any kind isn't very likely to be much involved in the story, except in passing mentions, or in the dynamics of how it would affect who's doing what. You'll see what I mean later on.

As far as Harry knew, it was all some sort of experiment that only Dumbledore could understand. He had no idea that the cat he had been given to keep him company instead of Hedwig over the holidays before his 3rd year, was in fact, his hated Potions Master in disguise.
Because of the Azkaban escapee, Sirius Black, Severus is sent to stay with Harry during the entire summer, never making a sound nor leaving the boy's side. He could not speak, nor could he defend Harry against anyone other than the criminal on the loose, however Severus does something that no other adult in Harry's life had done before...he listened.

- AWWWW! Adorable! Pleast continue! OH by the way at the end of this chapter, "madder" should be "angrier". It is in the area where Harry states that Snape should not have bitten Uncle Vernon.

Sequel, of sorts, to "Moment of Impact." Harry and Severus' relationship continues to develop through their correspondence during Harry's 6th year. Mainly follows canon but with the H/S mentor relationship established in "Moment of Impact."

- GREAT STORY! However can you please instead of making this a Harry/Ginny story please turn it in to a Harry/Hermione story-those 2 totally are soul-mates and Ginny only likes Harry for his fame and he needs more than a woman who flaunts that she is with the Boy-Who-Lived.
Author's Response: Hmmm.....let's see.....no. :) It's really a Harry/Severus mentoring fic, of course. IMHO, the movies didn't do a very good job at all with wooden Ginny/no chemistry G/H but it's really much better in the books. On this one, my "experiment" is to change only the relationship between Harry and Severus and to leave everything else as close to canon as possible. Thanks for reading, anyway! (SS)
