Very moving. It was quite effective that Snape was realizing it just as Harry was. Good chapter.

I hope they can continue to bond without any big blow ups between them. Ron is a blow up waiting to happen, as is Hermoine, what with Harry's improving grades. But I'd love to see both Harry and Snape continue to support each other. It seems that the two always end up at odds with each other in stories where Snape mentors Harry. These two guys are always so loyal when they give friendship while others--Ron & Hermione in Harry's case, and Lily in Snape's case just disregard the friendship when it suits them. Hermione in book 6 became unreasonable when Harry's potions grade improved, and we all know what Ron did in 4th year. Then Lily wouldn't even accept an apology for one mean word from Snape while he was being humiliated. Anyhow, that's what I'd love to see in this story: stanch support no matter what. :) but I'm enjoying it very much.

Winter has come again and all seems well in the castle. Christmas is all but around the corner. And even Snape seems more...approachable. But is it really? Is it all too good to be true? What secrets does the castle hide? And what is the enigma of The-Boy-Who-Lived?(Edited recently)

The eavesdropper was quite a surprise. Sadly, Ron and Hermione are not. Through the books, there were many incidences where even Hermione shows such jealousy. Good story :)

Author's Response: Thanks a million for the review, I've just uploaded the next chapter and hope it doesn't disappoint. My longest yet :)

Upsetting but moving. I'm glad he went to Snape. :) it DOES seem as if Ron and Hermione are acting out of character, though not so much Ron. I suppose that they've quit pretending in a big way. Maybe they've even decided Harry was holding them back LOL

    Good chapter. Thanks for posting.

Author's Response: I definitely agree that Hermione is out of character, more so than Ron, but if you think of her actions in just a tad more of the extreme, her control issues and drive at being the best, well it could be believable :) But like I hinted, perhaps they arent all themselves ;) Thanks a million for the feedback :D

I got the idea that it was Daphne and Neville. Also, Draco's pretty quiet, isn't he?

Good chapter, though. sort of melancholy and perhaps a little tense. We're all waiting for the next shoe to drop, good or bad. :)

Author's Response: Daphne and Neville is also an option def and I could see her going either way, hmm I'll have to think about it. As fir Draco, don't worry, he'll be ceiling up very soon :D Yeah, it was sad, and I really wanted to write a lighter one. Alas my hand ran away with my and so we'll have to wait for the next chapter, :)

*short story* The painful remnants of Little Harry's old life comes to haunt his nightmares.

That Dumbledore. It was his fault holding Severus there while he prattled. I hate meddlers.

I like the story a lot. I do notice, though, that sometimes Harry seems much younger than nine. I have to go back and check now and then to assure myself that it's the age you meant it to be. At one point in the story, I thought you had that he was seven, which does seem more the age he acts, but a few lines later he was clearly stated to be nine.

Either way, I'd love to read the sequel if you choose to write it. :)

    Author's Response:

    Agree about Dumbledore, hahaha...

Victims of child abusers tend to be less mature, I would think. The story started out with seven, but I changed everything to nine later. While Harry may act like seven, the way he expresses himself through words tend to an older age...

Thank you for reviewing, I really appreciate it.

i really enjoyed that. it would be fun to see what happens later to Gwen, Severus, and Harry--not to mention the Dursleys. but you left it in a good place otherwise.

    Author's Response: Thank you!!!

Petunia Dursley is cleaning the attic and finds a previously unknown copy of Lily’s will. Ecstatic at her discovery, she promptly abandons her burdensome nephew, along with Lily’s will, on the doorstep of her childhood nemesis (aka, Severus Snape). ***SEQUEL "Lily's Last Wish" NOW POSTED***
