- Your portrayal of Severus and his internal reasoning behind helping Harry is more realistic than I'm used to seeing - and I LOVE it! The selfish reasoning and the none too caring attitude he has towards Harry's plight (at least at this time in the story) is wonderfully done, making the character seem as he does in the novels (and extremely Slytherin to boot!)
So far I'm quite enjoying the take on these characters and looking forward to reading more!

PERFECT! Your progression with Severus' reasoning behind why he's helping Harry is very well done, very in character. I'm seriously enjoying the POV as well. It's quite a unique take on this type of story.

- Severu's 'revenge' is going along very nicely, though he does seem to loose track of his goals quite often...
"He wanted to soothe Harry, wanted to feed him and reassure him and mollycoddle him and he didn’t dare approach him for fear of worsening the situation." This is something I'd quite like to see, though - once more - the speed at which you're developing this is absolutely perfect.
I am quite surprised at Draco's actions - and his history! I do love the addition of it, but will admit it's not something I saw coming!!
When Harry Potter comes to Hogwarts, Snape is forced to reexamine his initial impressions.

This chapter was quite well done - I really do enjoy Severus' POV in rewrites liek this. I'm really excited to see where this goes!
When Vernon discovers Harry can't do magic during his first summer back from Hogwarts, he loses it when the cake falls on his clients. Completely AU version of the Severitus challenge beginning during the summer after first year.

- Honestly, how have I not reviewed yet? Guess I just raced through this wonderful story!
I'm absolutely in love with the manner in which this fic is progressing - I love the character development and the subtle (and not so subtle) differences from a traditional Severitus fic. I think that the way this is written and the manner in which this is progressing is at perfect pace.
And then I looked up at the list of future chapters and realized I'm only about 1/3 done with this gem! Honestly, CoS is one of my favourites of the series and I cannot wait to see how this moves forward.
/some childish part of me is hoping Harry gets a snake familiar of his own, but then again that's something I'm always wishing for/
Looks like Harry will have tough times ahead.

- A brilliant rewrite of your AU of the CoS climax! I'm impressed with how you implemented the same events happening - but quite a few of them for different reasons.
And once more, I love your version of Harry. I love how he's not completely clueless - thanks to Snape - and able to use this knowledge to get things accomplished far easier.
The only thing that seemed a tad OOC was Snape being perfectly fine with letting his son go face down Tom Riddle and a Basilisk...with the chance that his other son may well be dead too. That's honestly it, though. I'm impressed!

- Incredibly enjoyable AU that I honestly wasn't expecting when I started reading. This story is well thought out, reasonably lengthed and a great study of the characters. The changes that you've made to said characters work very well because of the plot -something I don't see too often.
I'm hoping to see more 'books' in this universe, and quite pleased to archive this fic as one of my favourite CoS Potter stories!
Author's Response: Then you'll be glad to note that the other two - Duty and Honour are also currently posted as well. Duty is finished and Honour is now at Chapter 20 and winding down. Whether I continue - don't know yet, but I thank you for your insightful reviews. The only reason Severus is resigned to letting Harry go is because he knew Harry was the only one who could get through. - Aww, I really like the route you're taking - especially with showing so many parallels between how Severus dealt with his problems (creating a perfect mask/stop feeling altogether) and how Harry has come to deal with his abuse.
I am really looking forward to how this develops. You write wonderfully.
